Floating Dock (2), Manaus
One of the "must see" in Manaus is the floating docks and all the movement around that. As Manaus docks are the main Amazona's docks at the Amazonas brazilian state, there are always plenty of boats arriving and departing from this docks. Getting around those docks and see who's arriving, how the men dump the fich and mercancies, how people prepatre themselves to go to the beaches at weekend it's unique. You can easylly spend a couple of hours there just to wander from slope to slope between the boats and see what's happening there.
At the harbour you see the most common way the people from amazon travel....on hammocks hanging on the boat poles..
you can go all over the state on that kind of transportation...
be aware, after the second day is impossible to use the bathroom!!!!
Lots of sights and smells here in the fish market. Its not just fish, they also sell all kings of meats, fruits, veggies and other things. We got here around 3pm and things were starting to shut down, I guess they open early like 4am..There were 4 of us guys and although it was dirty we did not feel to threatened. Make sure to go and walk on the floating docks its a trip.
The Manaus floating dock is a must see in Manaus. Here you will get to see the Amazon boat life on the rede hammock boats. This is a must see, just go!
Another interesting stop to make is to the poor dock in Manaus. here the poorer people take boats through the amazon. It is an interesting place to get a feel for Manaus and its people.
Everywhere you look when at the waterfront are these boats, some are lived in, others are used for transportation. The ROYAL PRINCESS is not the only way to get up and down the AMAZON.
