This place is right next to Tropical Hotel, and one of the upscale parts of town. Its the best place to sit down with a beer in the evenings/nights, enjoy the boi dances performed in the street - side cafe .... while watching the Rio Negro (the black river) flow idly by.
The Manauaras (residents of Manaus) too come here with their families to enjoy a pleasent evening walk.

Ponta Negra Beach Leisure Center is 13 Kilometers from downtown. This area was the village of the "Manao" Indians. There is a modern and huge amphitheater on the bank of the Negro river, where activities take place regularly. Also is the most popular beach in Manaus.
