You can only bring a small holdall on this trip (canoes and huge suitcases are a bad combination) so you’ll need to store the rest of your luggage in Manaus. I imagine most hotels would do this if you’re there beforehand and returning to them, but we transferred to the lodge straight from the airport. This wasn’t a problem however as they have a secure storeroom at the Manaus docks where luggage can be held.
Cotton or linen is best, including at least one shirt with long sleeves, and definitely long trousers for jungle walks (though shorts are fine around the lodge and give you a chance to cool off). Whatever you do, even though travelling light, bring at least one change of everything – the extreme stickiness means that you will want to change several times a day. You will get wet, especially if you are traveling in the rainy season. This is not necisarrily a bad thing, hiking through the Rain forest should involve the risk of rain, just plan accordingly, Fast drying clothese work great.
