Broadway is the main street in Canoa Quebrada where most of the restaurants, shops, bars and clubs are located. During the day the place can be quiet and pleasant for a stroll along the cobblestone street browsing through the shops and the street has plenty of options for a light lunch.
However, at the night the street is totally transformed, into a lively and chaotic street scene, when the bars and clubs open and visitors and locals alike flood into the bars and out onto the streets to enjoy the night. The weekends are especially lively and the party atmosphere continues late into the night.
Craft stalls and drinks stalls are set up all along the street and all add to the great atmosphere of Broadway at night.
While for me sunsets have always been more impressive than sun rises (Probably because I'm usually not up to see them!!!) the sun rise in Canoa Quebrada is stunning. After spending the night at a beach party, everyone gathers on the beach in canoa Quebrada to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic. There is no better way to start the day on Canoa Quebrada than to go for an early morning swim while the sun rises above your head. Perfect!
The beach is the centre piece of Canoa Quebrada. The unspoilt, clean beach is one the North East's finest beaches and the fine white sand stretches for miles along the coast.
One of the things that sets it apart from other beaches is its unusual red coloured sand cliffs which flank the beach. The impressive geological formation of Canoa Quebrada's cliffs is the most distinguisable feature of the town's beach and is what makes Canoa Quebrada unique.
Carved into the cliffs and dotted in various locations along the beach is the white Cresent Moon and Star which has become the recognisable mark and symbol of Canoa Quebrada, which I think stems not from any Muslim/Arab link but from Canoa's Claim to be the mystic and spiritual centre of Ceara.
Along the beach there are several restaurants and bars, the most famous of which is the Freedom Bar where you can spend the night and early morning at the weekend beach parties dancing and drinking to reggae music and sitting around the fire watching fire jugglers and performers all through the night.
During the nigth, you will find all along the main street, Broadway Street people playing this kind of games.........
You will find people completely serious trying to win some little money to buy later (of course) somthing to drink ;)
A funny activity but please: dont bet too much money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its too funny, epecially if you have drink some Caipirinhas before ;)
The bad part its when you have to came back, when you have to climb up. You need to be strong and have a great sence of humor when you hear all your friends comments up there!!!!!!
In those tiny and small cars, you will discover the Town. The fishying town its small, but there are many places really nice to see, that its better for you to go with locals that know the stories, the legends and the magic stuff of those lands.
Those excursions are really fun, exiting and interesting.
Yu must do it!!!!
Take an organized tour in the dunas, in a beach boogie! It is terrific fun, and you will be taken by a guide, as it can be dangerous for people who dont know the area very well.
They go to different places in the area, depending on your wish. Have a lunchbreak on a good restaurant, play in the quicksand, try "sand skiing", see some very beautiful scenaries,
