Canoa Quebrada Things to Do

  • Broadway

Broadway is the main street in Canoa Quebrada where most of the restaurants, shops, bars and clubs are located. During the day the place can be quiet and pleasant for a stroll along the cobblestone street browsing through the shops and the street has plenty of options for a light lunch. However, at the night the street is totally transformed, into...

  • The Sun Rise

While for me sunsets have always been more impressive than sun rises (Probably because I'm usually not up to see them!!!) the sun rise in Canoa Quebrada is stunning. After spending the night at a beach party, everyone gathers on the beach in canoa Quebrada to watch the sun rise over the Atlantic. There is no better way to start the day on Canoa...

  • The Beach!

The beach is the centre piece of Canoa Quebrada. The unspoilt, clean beach is one the North East's finest beaches and the fine white sand stretches for miles along the coast. One of the things that sets it apart from other beaches is its unusual red coloured sand cliffs which flank the beach. The impressive geological formation of Canoa Quebrada's...

Canoa Quebrada Restaurants

My boyfriend and I were surprised at the range of places to eat, it's rather varied, even though Canoa Quebrada is a small place. On the main street we found a good selection and quality. While we didn't try all of them Cafe Habana stood out for its freshness and quality. They also happen to own the hotel we stayed at - Pousada Iguana.

Canoa Quebrada Off The Beaten Path

Canoa Quebrada literally means broken canoe, but it could be broken down civilisation, cute in small doses. Lots of drugs here, you are almost a "square" if you say no!!

Absolutely exotic miles and miles of beach if you drive from Fortaleza the drive is wonderful, most of it actually on the beach and you may see the odd (literally) fisherman and that's about all.

    Quite an experience.

Strangely while I was here I saw a Miss Model World competition, fascinating stuff for a place that is quite literally the back of beyond.

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Every year in january there is a football world cup, where all the different foreigners and a team of brazilians play against each other.
It's taken very serious by some of the people living there and should be well worth seeing.
