Mucuripe Club by Guedes The biggest nightclub in Fortaleza, very good. I also suggest: The Pub (Ana Bilhar Street, 1445 - Varjota) Olé Klub (Praça Portugal) Órbita (in front of Dragão do Mar) Biruta (Dioguinho avenue, ... - Praia do Futuro)
I think you can wear anything you want... Leave a Comment

Fortal 2002 by SoccerGirl09 I don't know what I was thinking leaving this tip off of the list. Fortal is a big event that happens every year at the end of July (it is usually the last weekend of the month) and it lasts about 4 days... A lot of tourists come to town just for this event. It is like an out of season CARNIVAL. Various bands go down Avenida Beira Mar playing songs - these bands play on top of trucks with huge speakers "trio eletrico", and they are divided in "blocks". Each "Block" has a name and the people usually choose the block to go depending on price, or most of the time, depending on the band that is playing. If you don't have the picture on your mind yet... Fortal usually has 400.000 people a night and in it's 4 days about 2 MILLION people go out to celebrate in the Avenue (inside and outside of the blocks). GET THE PICTURE??? It is the biggest out of season Carnival in Brasil. Usually we have about 6 oficial "blocks". Fortal started in 1992, so, this will be it's 11th year. And if you don't like to go down and dace in the Avenue, following the "trio eletrico" you can always get in to a hotel, a club, or a "camarote" (kind of a VIP place with food, drinks, seats). Anyway... When you go, you don't want to have lot of pricey things on you. Don't take a lot of cash, just enough to get drunk, and make sure you take an ID. Cameras, only take them if they are disposable. There are plenty of photographers there, they will put your pics on the web and everything. Oh, almost forgot... The only bad thing about this is that it is a bit expensive to go in the blocks. They range from R$200.00 - R$400.00 (BRAZILIAN CURRENCY). But $1.00 = R$2.85 (it changes everyday). So, if your currency is the American Dollar, yout money is worth almost 3 times more in Brazil... so it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my Gosh... People wear all kinds of stuff. You are not going to dress up. You probably want to put shorts and a bathing suit on (when you buy the ticket to fortal, you get "abadas" (which is kinda like a shirt) so the people know which block you belong to). Plus, it is hot, by the beach, so you are going to sweat for sure, or get a beer bath, or get wet even when the firefighters come and "give" the people some water. So, bathing suit and shorts are the best option. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicDirections: Avenida Beira Mar I can't give any specifics. Use the website to choose the block you want to go in.Website: www.fortal.com.br

by little.cintia Amicis is a italian restaurant at Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar serving amazing pizza. But after 11pm it turns into an intense night club. Saturday is the best day to go and it's when they play samba music from the past. It's so worth it. It is near Praia de Iracema and it's cheap to get in, around 10 reais.

by SoccerGirl09 It is pretty cool in Mucuripe... It is a little more expensive than the other places to go in, but it is nice there. I already liked the old Mucuripe, but now, they changed location and buit a brand new one. I haven't been in that one yet, but I will let you know, in December, when I visit, what I think. My sources say it is even better. There are 6 areas now, different than the ones before. Alfandega (it is dedicated to a former night club, they have live music with the best of pop rock, axe music and etc), Arena (holds 1,500 people it plays rock n'roll, pop rock classics and etc), Estacao (holds about 300 people and mostly plays blues, MTV, pop and Jazz), Usina (holds about 800 people and it is the space for techno and dance music), Tunel (the best of flashback '60, '70, '80, '90) and finally the restaurant, Vintage.
There isn't really a dress code, but usually, people dress up a little bit to go there... What a mean by dressing up is that you don't see a lot of people wearing jeans. by SoccerGirl09 This is a nice environment, where you can go with your friends. Usually there are live bands playing there.. The style of music is usually cover bands of certain artists, pop rock, reggae. It is usually R$5,00 to get in and sometimes, if you get there before 10pm you get in for free (depending on how many people are in there already). You can play pool, kick it by the bar, or enjoy the music.

On Mondays I guess 99% of tourists and locals go to 'Forró do Pirata'. A very nice dance club/bar where you can dance to 'Forró' (the most popular dance in the Northeast) and some Axé (from Bahia)and meet new people. There's no way you can stay still! You have to pay a R$ 15,00 entrance. And if you manage to keep dancing until 4 am, they serve their special "Survivors' soup"!
Casual, summer clothes, comfortable shoes since you will dance a lot. Leave a Comment Theme: DancingAddress: Rua dos Tabajaras, 325 - Fortaleza - CearáWebsite: www.pirata.com.br

by SoccerGirl09 This is a Nightlife and a Daylife spot. It is a place in "Praia do Futuro" called "Barraca Biruta". During the day, especially during vacation time, there are a lot of good looking people enjoying the beach, people from all around the world. At night, people go there usually when there are concerts, parties and etc. During the month of July, every Tueday, there is the "Festa Normal", where a whole bunch of people go there and dance, it is style night club. Then, on saturdays, there are always, parties that you can go to that is usually also night club style. Year round, there are concerts with famous artists. This picture was taken there last July in one of the "Festa Normal". I really enjoy going there.. Very nice environment.
Anything you like. That's what I like about Biruta. Just be yourself. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music
