This is a must for everyone who enjoys to dance, listen to good local music or experience something very different!
Pirata Bar is no doubt Monday's night and Monday is the night where you are served Ceara music at it's best! Forro is played from 20 till midnight, and then you get Axe (Brasilian pop/rock) at it's very best till dawn.
Drinks are a little more expensive then other bars, but affordable. The menu, however, is big and appart from beer, most drinks are available.
Be sure to come here early if you dont want to be standing up. It gets very crowded here and you wont find a table if you turn up late.
Dress Code: No dresscode, but dress nice, jeans and a nice shirt are fine.

Amicis is a italian restaurant at Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar serving amazing pizza. But after 11pm it turns into an intense night club. Saturday is the best day to go and it's when they play samba music from the past. It's so worth it.
It is near Praia de Iracema and it's cheap to get in, around 10 reais.

If you want to dance, see some beautiful people, great cocktails and to be in a place which will be open until 6 am...
Then go to Mucuripe Club. They have a massive open space for bands to perform and 3 night clubs playing different music styles.
It's well worth it going there :)

Pirata was once considered to have the craziest monday on the planet. Maybe it's because it's the only place open and so lively on a monday night.
But it's a good place to go.
You have a great band playing Axe music and the crowd just loves it. People go and they just dance all night long.
Prices on drinks aren't high and make sure you take a taxi. It's terrible to park there.
But it's a good tip :)
Dress Code: Something comfortable so you can dance all night :)

The Beira Mar area is a real night spot as you will see when you arrive. The story of how the founder of Fortaleza fell in love with an Indian princess is immortalised in the statue of Iracema. A great place to have a kiss or even propose !!!
Afterwards a walk along to the little market and a drink in one of the bars is in order. However don't forget your mosquito repellent. No malaria here but the things are a real pest !

The Portuguese center is really a circle and it is located just in front of Shopping Aldeota. They light it up at night and it is very nice looking. During the Christmastime months they construct a huge Christmas tree of lights and light it up.
For a calm night out head there and then stop by Monmartte for a sandwich and then some shopping at Aldeota.

Go check out Beira mar at night. You will find it packed with people. The locals go there to run and walk and the tourist go there because 90% of the hotels in town are there. Check out the sights and do a little shopping, relax at on of the restaurants, or just sit back and watch the people zip by.
Dress Code: None, just remember to stay where the people are, do not go walking on the beach at night, and leave your jewelry at home.

Here is one of the hot spots at night. It is the Orbita club located near Praia Iracema. This area is loaded with bars and very well travel in the evenings. They serve food and drinks of all kinds and they often have live bands there playing at night.
Dress Code: There is no "dress code" but it is customary in Fortaleza to wear pants and a nice shirt when going out at night. The only people who show up in beachwear at night are the tourists.
