Pirata was once considered to have the craziest monday on the planet. Maybe it's because it's the only place open and so lively on a monday night.
But it's a good place to go.
You have a great band playing Axe music and the crowd just loves it. People go and they just dance all night long.
Prices on drinks aren't high and make sure you take a taxi. It's terrible to park there.
But it's a good tip :)
Dress Code: Something comfortable so you can dance all night :)

This is a must for everyone who enjoys to dance, listen to good local music or experience something very different!
Pirata Bar is no doubt Monday's night and Monday is the night where you are served Ceara music at it's best! Forro is played from 20 till midnight, and then you get Axe (Brasilian pop/rock) at it's very best till dawn.
Drinks are a little more expensive then other bars, but affordable. The menu, however, is big and appart from beer, most drinks are available.
Be sure to come here early if you dont want to be standing up. It gets very crowded here and you wont find a table if you turn up late.
Dress Code: No dresscode, but dress nice, jeans and a nice shirt are fine.

This is a place that you might find in Miami like Nikki Beach, St. Tropez, or Ibiza. The difference is the Brazilian twist, so there is not attitude.
Great to lounge, dance, and look at beautiful people.
Excellent place to go on Thursdays
Dress Code: more dressed up than other places but still relatively casual

the nightlife... WOW... I don't know where to begin... there are soooooo many options... i'll try to go night for night, or spot for spot.. hmm... first a rundown of all the places I went to... Kapital, Cafe del Mar, Alo Brazil, Europa, Bikini Bar, Africas, Armazen, Orbital, Mucuripe, Drago do Mar, Zippi... EVERY NIGHT IN FORTALEZA, there is something fun to do!!!
I must say, the place I enjoyed the most was Mucuripe..... Mucuripe is an EXCELLENT club... this place is absolutely HUGE, the doorman said that they don't allow women who openly work as "pro's" in the place, there is about 5 or 6 different rooms where you can enjoy different types of music, and in the main room (the one when u first enter) you can enjoy a live band and sit back and relax with friends... further back, there was an open area with a waterfall wall.. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED... it was really nice and the staff were very courteous... the women were supposedly the "upper class" brazilian class, but they gave me and my buddies lots of love, and surprisingly, alot of women we met in Mucuripe spoke english.. not great english, but you could tell they were either educated, or being educated in English...

As its name implies, the club has everything for the cowboy: the huge complex is sometimes used for rodeos during the day, and on Wednesday nights the cavernous interior throbs with forró rhythms and hundreds of dancing couples.

This is a Nightlife and a Daylife spot. It is a place in "Praia do Futuro" called "Barraca Biruta". During the day, especially during vacation time, there are a lot of good looking people enjoying the beach, people from all around the world. At night, people go there usually when there are concerts, parties and etc. During the month of July, every Tueday, there is the "Festa Normal", where a whole bunch of people go there and dance, it is style night club. Then, on saturdays, there are always, parties that you can go to that is usually also night club style. Year round, there are concerts with famous artists. This picture was taken there last July in one of the "Festa Normal". I really enjoy going there.. Very nice environment.
Dress Code: Anything you like. That's what I like about Biruta. Just be yourself.

The Beira Mar area is a real night spot as you will see when you arrive. The story of how the founder of Fortaleza fell in love with an Indian princess is immortalised in the statue of Iracema. A great place to have a kiss or even propose !!!
Afterwards a walk along to the little market and a drink in one of the bars is in order. However don't forget your mosquito repellent. No malaria here but the things are a real pest !

If you get sick of the usual nightspots in Fortaleza head to Praia do Futuro on a Thursday night and you will think you are in Ibiza or the Greek Islands for a while.
Beautiful spot and excellent house music once a week.
For a different feel try to get there by day for an very different "barraca de praia" experience.
Think Bora Bora in Brasil!
Dress Code: Fashionable - But no beach sandals unless you are a VIP

On Mondays I guess 99% of tourists and locals go to 'Forró do Pirata'. A very nice dance club/bar where you can dance to 'Forró' (the most popular dance in the Northeast) and some Axé (from Bahia)and meet new people. There's no way you can stay still! You have to pay a R$ 15,00 entrance. And if you manage to keep dancing until 4 am, they serve their special "Survivors' soup"!
Dress Code: Casual, summer clothes, comfortable shoes since you will dance a lot.
