Luggage and bags: Make sure that you pack sun-block and/or sun-screen. The Sun is unforgiving here and after a few hours of being in it ( I mean walking around, not sunbathing) you will be done. If you go to buy it here it is crazy expensive and you probably will not find the kind that you want.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: WARNING.... Do not buy sun screen from beach peddlers. Chances are it is an empty bottle they picked up and filled with lotion or something cheap. They have people at the city dump that collect and then sell these empty bottles.

Luggage and bags: Travel LIGHT! Most clothing may never get un-packed if you are like me.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: LIGHT clothing !!!!
Sandals, shorts and a T-shirt get you through most of your vacation there. Oh, don't forget your swimsuit and a sunhat :-)
Photo Equipment: A camera is a must, even a video. I preferred my tiny inexpensive digital, point and shoot as on many excursions there is no time to set things like focus. Also in terms of safety, I did not want to display any fancy equipment to the poor locals. On the beaches there is no problem in that regard.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Fortaleza is basically warm all year around (between 25ºC and 31ºC), so bring comfortable summer clothes and sunglasses. From March to June it can rain but usually is only early in the morning and the temperature doesn’t go any lower than 25ºC. Don’t forget to bring swimming clothes once the best attractions are the beaches. You might want to bring something a little bit more dressy (but nothing formal) for the night, specially if you want to go to night clubs.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Don't forget to bring sun lotion and if you are going outside town you might want to bring a bug repellent but anyother than that just bring some aspirines in case of sunstroke or hang overs. But don't worry much you can find a drugstore everywhere.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Lots of swim wear and summer clothes. Jeans are ok if you go out at night.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen is a must. You can get sunburned just by being in the sun for 15 minutes!
Photo Equipment: There aren't many photo stores around...They charge a lot to develop films. But you can get new films at any souvenir store.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Caps and hats are recommended to stay on the beaches.

Luggage and bags: Hey, there is no mysteries about Fortaleza! It is summer all year long!
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: So pack up your bikini and your speedo and get on your way!!!!!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: The great outdoors of Fortaleza?? The beach of course! So as I said before, just pack up your bikini... oh, and also... You might want to make sure that you will bring some very strong sunblock. We are located very close to the Equator line, so the sun over there is pretty strong.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Camping
Photo Equipment: Humidity destroyed my 2 cameras the first week of my stay in Nordeste... New ones cost the double price from Europe, it can be wise to have an inexpensive mechanical one for every occasion.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Buy your hammock from the smaller shops outside the big Municipal Market of Fortaleza, do not get in there (well it's a cool place for coffee) or bring one from home!
I bought mine from there for about 20 reals and it is still fine and in use...
