Prea is one of the best spots in the world for kitesurfing. It is located 10 km east of Jericoacoara. The region is known for its tropical warm waters and consistent side onshore winds, onshore currents and wind speed from 15 to 30 knots year round. The biggest waves reach 2 meters and there are miles and miles of empty beaches without obstacles, rocks or dangerous objects for safe kiting conditions.

There are a couple of kite schools in Prea and Jeri that offer professional lessons focused on your specific needs, from beginners to advanced.

Sandboarding is an adrenalin sport, similar to snowboarding. It basically consists of standing on a board and zooming down a dune with the wind beating your face. The only differences are that instead of snow, heavy suites and freezing temperatures, you enjoy gliding on the sand while wearing shorts at 30C.

In Jeri sandboarding (locally known as ski-bunda) is undertaken by residents and tourists the entire year round since sand never melts :) It's a very exciting experience practicing this original sport on Sunset Dune during sunset!! Many people do this!!

Jeri is presently considered as the best place in the country for windsurfing due the excellent climatic conditions: calm ocean, warm water and constant winds. Every year more and more foreigners, including professionals, spend the season in Jeri to perfect their technique. Many natives try out their skills as well.

It is possible to windsurf at any point on Jeri beach up to the curve in the Guriu river and also on Lagoa Paraiso which is well suited for beginners. The weaves aren't huge in Jeri, rarely exceeding 2 meters, but combined with the strong winds blowing with the waves, they work as a catapult, tossing you upward. Malhada beach on the bay's east side is often frequented by surfers.

With constant year round winds, windsurfing is possible in any season. However, the best time is the second half of the year, from July to January, with the peak months being August and September. The best time to surf is around 3pm.

Whether you want to learn the basics of windsurfing or bring your more advanced skills to perfection, Club Ventos has highly qualified instructors on hand to be of assistance. Club provides its students with a full range of the latest equipment in various sizes and models which best suit every level or need of sailor. Beside windsurfing there are some activities which are offered at the club, as kitesurfing, surfing and kayaking.

In addition, there is a restaurant which serves a delicious buffet lunch, a la carte menu and various snacks, a bar that offers a variety of drinks, from coffee to cocktails and agua de coco, a surf shop selling goods for all beach necessities and cyber cafe.

Club Ventos is located in front of the launch site, offering the superb view of the action in the bay while relaxing in a lounge.

Rent a sandboard and have some fun! You don't need to be an expert, I did it for the very first time in my life and I was quite able to keep balance. Watch out: some parts of the dunes are too steeeeeeep...! CRASH! OUCH!
The board costs 8 reais an hour.

Someone in Jeri told me that it's becoming a popular destination for Europeans who like windsurfing, as the wind and sea are very good to do it. Still, if you would like to learn, there are some windsurfing schools.

in front of Jeri u can practice windsurf, but for kite is better the Prea Beach, the beach after Pedra Fourada.
In Prea' there are few pousada, so is better to stay in Jeri and reach the beach with a buggy or Range rover,
