by imki Written Jan 11, 2014

    Hoy.
    How r u?
Im trying 2 figure out a way 2 get from Jericoacoara 2 Recife (via Fortaleza) while taking the nightbus from Fortaleza. All this, few days b4 the carnival (last week of feb.)
From what I understand from the websites there is only 1 daily bus from Jeri 2 Fortaleza, which arrives after the bus 2 Recife already leaves.
    Maybe im missing something.

    Bus from Fortaleza

    by sof76 Written Jun 8, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

To arrive to Jeri you must take a bus from Fortaleza to Gijoca, and then a sort of a truck to arrive to Jeri (the path to arrive it's sandy).

    Fortaleza → Jericoacoara 289 km

I took Redencao Buses, but I've heard it is not working since 2011...

    Try this companies:

    Dani Turismo
    Dumar Off Road
    Eco Adventure Tour
    Experimente Jeri
    Hardtour
    Jeri Dunas Off Road
    Jeri Ecoturismo
    Jeri Explore
    Jeri Férias
    Jeri Tur
    Jeri Viagens
    MW Tur
    Tribus Ecotrip

  • Bus to Jericoacoara

by Nedevangelico Written Jun 8, 2013

The regular busservice to Jericoacoara is now run by Fretcar. Outside of the low season (around may/june), they have 3 buses a day leaving Fortaleza to Jericoacoara. The buses actually go to Jijoca, from where you continue the finally stretch in a jardineira (included in price). Twice a day a VIP bus (direct connection) leaves for Jericoacoara (58 reais). For time schedules, it is best to check their site www.fretcar.com.br or contact directly their agency in Jericoacoara - they can give you all updated information:

    Global Connection
    globalconnectionjericoacoara@gmail.com
    (88) 9900 2109
    http://globalconnection.tur.br/

They are also the only agency to sell flight tickets in Jericoacoara.

    How to get to Jeri

Everybody on board! Next stop: Jeri!

Take a coach from Fortaleza bus station. The journey consists of two parts: the first takes 5 hours on a modern air-conditioned bus, then you stop in a small town and wait around 15 minutes until the track shown in the picture arrives. This last journey will take 1 hour, but it's fun and the views are very nice: some small villages in the middle of nowhere and a deserted, extense beach.
The whole journey costs 35 reais (one way). Redenção is the bus line between Jeri and Fortaleza.

    me and Araruna in Jeri
    4 more images

When we went to Jeri, we rent a van in Fortaleza beach, with Araruna, an old experient man, who made a better price for us..we went on friday, take 4 hour in a car and then went to a little and good hotel there, in the middle of the town, near everthing..very good and cheap. Araruna lead us into the town and showed us the beach and the lakes( Paraíso) surrounded..it was a nice trip, with a nice person that brought us a lot of passion and information about this amazing place..remember, you can contact them in the fortaleza beach, near the street, asking for Araruna and paraiso do Sol road trip to Jericoacoara

    If you don't take a 4by4 - Si vous venez sans 4-4

by Maillekeul Written Jan 2, 2004
From the truck - Depuis le camion

The truck you have to take from a small town where the bus from Fortaleza stops, to Jericoacoara, is quite an adventure, as it will ride on the sand dunes and on the beach... But it's not done for it !! It's gonna shake !!!

we came from fortaleza by car, first a five hour drive to jijoca and that's the last small village before jerricoacoara...
Don't even try to get with your car a little bit further, it's not possible!!
in this small village there is a big 4-4 truck and the driver will bring you to jerri in almost an hour!
You can ask anyone there to bring you but you have to pay a lot more....
The truck goes only a few times a day, we were lucky...

    Cómo llegar a Jericoacoara

by Fla Updated Apr 17, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Jeep Tour by the beach.

by mcrestincov Written May 6, 2003

If you come from "Lençoes Maranhenses" or "Fortaleza" you can ask for a Jeep trip to "Jericoacoara".

It is a one all day trip and the most part is in the beach. Is the best way to go there !
