Bring a Set of Warm Clothes for Fall and Winter
Luggage and bags: You should bring one piece of luggage for your personal effects, computer, etc. However, I would fill the rest of the first suitcase and second suitcase with clothes for colder weather. Curitiba is about 900 meters above sea level. From March to June (fall in Brazil) and June to September (winter in Brazil), it can get cold in the city.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You should bring a sweat shirt, sweater and jacket. I know it sounds strange that you have to wear a jacket in Brazil. But, take my word for it, it is worth bringing. A popular saying here is that Curitiba has four seasons in one day--very true! Mornings can be feel wintry or fall-like. As the late morning progresses into afternoon, it can feel like spring or summer. As for other clothing, men can wear sneakers or dress shoes (if it's for a formal work) or short Timberland boots, they should do. As for women, in mild to warm weather, many women here wear flats but in colder weather, many women wear boots.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Obviously, if you have medicine bring it. If you need toiletries, you can go to a supermarket ( I do not recommend Mercadorama-it is abysmal!!!) or a pharmacy such as Nissei, Forte Farma.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you are lucky to visit a beach in the Brazil spring or summer, men can wear Speedos without comments from others (I can attest to this as some 20-something girl in Sarasota, Florida ten years ago made some crummy comments to me) or feel like they are being judged by everyone. As for women, bikinis are the norm. Some women wear a one-piece but most women wear a bikini. Thongs are usually worn by women in their 20's and 30's.
If you travel on winter...
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Be sure to pack some warm clothes. Unlike touristic Brazil, Curitiba can be really chilly on winter.
Temperatures normally reaches 0C (32F). But with no central heating available. So, if you have bad luck, you may even feel cold indoors.

Coats and an umbrella
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Even during the summer you may need a coat at night....rainy days can happen in any season. Do not be fooled by the fact that Curitiba is in a tropical country...we are in the South...the South Pole is not that far away..:))
