    If you walk through Ponta Negra district you will see lot's of beautiful houses or villas with even more beautiful gardens full of exotical flowers, all strictly closed by huge walls. That's common for everywhere in Brazil, 'cause the crime there...
    but it is a pitty for tourists who want to see those houses!
    I wish I could have ahouse in Natal, that would be very nice!

    If you go to Natal you MUST take a day and try the beach buggy. There are licensed drivers who drives you througt the big sanddunes north of Natal....you will never forget this trip!

    Si estás en Natal es imprescindible realizar las excursiones de sus alrededores, tanto el Litoral Sur (Tibau, Pipa, Baía Formosa, Tabatinga, etc etc) como el Litoral Norte (Maracajaú, Genipabu, Pititinga, etc etc).

    Los atardeceres en Ponta Negra (a 13km de Natal) al lado del Morro de Careca son imperdibles....

    PONTA NEGRA -

    Without doubt, Ponta Negra beach and its majestic “Morro do Careca”, one of the postcard attracions of the city, is the best option for those who want to take advantage of the sea and the numerous sea-front bars and restaurants. Ponta Negra has a pavement (3km) joining the “Via Costeira”to the “Morro do Careca”. Ponta Negra is today, the biggest hotel and gastronomic centre in the city. There are hotels, “pousadas” (cheap hotels) and restaurants.
    Besides Ponta Negra, the other beaches in the urban area are “Artistas”, “Meio” and “Forte”.

    There are a lot of small lakes just near the sea. If you get tired of saltwater, just go one of the lakes for a day and swim in sweetwater instead. It was very good!
    For information about the lakes, ask at your local hotel.

    • The capital city of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, Natal has roughly 400,000 inhabitants. It started from a fortress built by the Portuguese in 1598 to fight the French invaders (and remained relatively small until the World War II, when the Allied Forces, recognizing its strategic location on the eastern bulge of Brazil, decided to turn the sleepy city into the Allied military base for their operations in North Africa. Natal is known for its endless beaches, being the most famous, 30 km north of the city. Golden sand dunes, palm trees and dune buggies make this beach a must.

    • I've been to many places in South America. Brazil is so far the biggest disappointment. The criminality beeing the worst of it all. These days charter tourists are transported to Natal en masse, but what do they get?

    • You dont have to bring much clothes here. The temperature is the same all year around, and on the beach....yeah thats is where the brazilians spend their time....it seems you dont have to be "overdressed".....

    • t's a must t make contact with the boys of www.brazil4ever.com ! They showed us everything for low prices. As a matter a fact these are dutch guys, that live for many years in Natal and do their job with love for Brasil.
