Avoid sunburns!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Do not go easy on the sunscreen! My skin tone is light brown so I normally don't need a sunscreen with high SPF, anyway I bought SPF 30 just in case. Even reapplying the sunscreen every few hours, I got a sunburn (and I usually avoid direct sun exposure). Next day I bought sunscreen SPF 50. Be careful with sun exposure in Natal and don't forget to apply a high SPF sunscreen!

Pack Lite - The "All You Need" List

Pack toiletries in plastic to avoid this!

Luggage and bags: I made this list because I could not find one before I left. Everyone said the same thing " clothing here is all beach wear". Well I didn;t belive it, so I brought some dress clothes too. I'm glad I did, cause I did use them - but, but no means every day. Basically beachwear goes everwhere in Natal and you don't need to bring too much. So here's my list.. I hope it helps you!!

Luggage:
A Single Carry-on for the trip there
A second Carry-ons for the trip back (for presents). Buy your seond bag in Brazil, they're cheap!

Check Nothing!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: For 10 days I found the following to be sufficient:

4 beach t-shirts
2 nice shirts
1 dress shirt
3 prs. of shorts
3 bathing suits
1 pr. dress socks
2 prs. normal socks
1 pr. sandals
1 pr. dress shoes
1 pr. jeans
1 pr. dress pants
2 prs. sunglasses

There's not much need to dress up in Natal so, one nice outfit will cover you. The rest should be light beach clothes - it's HOT!
Also, you can get your clothes washed at any hotel/pousada - so pack light.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: extra contact lenses (if you wear such)
saline soultion
toothbrush
floss
small toothpaste
anti-persp/deodorant
small shampoo
small conditioner
sun screen
lip balm w/ UV protection
cologne/perfume
after shave
hair gel
advil/tylenol
some bandages/band-aids
cold pack
plastic bags (pack toiletries in plastic in case they explode during flight)

Photo Equipment: digital camera
extra battery or voltage converter for charger
extra memory (if you need it)
camera case

Miscellaneous: phase book (if you don't speak portuguese)
english/port - port/english dictionary
copy of passport
local consulate/embassy information
travelers checks

Luggage and bags: When you are going to the beach a small ruggsack always can be usefull to put your things in.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: NOT any worm shoes

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There are pharmacies and shoppingenters in Natal so you dont have to worry. But a absolutly must is sunprotection oil!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: The most important is that you do have clothes for the beach in Brazil. You dont exactly have to take youre fure with you to this destination. Also on restaurants the dresscode is not so important. On fancy restaurants you maybe have to think more what to wear. But ALWAYS: NO warm clothes.

Luggage and bags: Be careful when suntanning. Due to the nice breeze on the coast the person doesn´t feel the sun burning the skin. Even you are hidden from the sum, be sure to protect your body with a powerful sum block lotion. Clothig, shoes - Don´t forget confortable open sndals (leather or rubber), sun screen, t-shirts (avoid dark colours for they absort the heat).
Avoid walking alone at later of night in desert places which can be dangerous. Use can to use taxis wich security, but the driver usualuly don´t speak english. I recommend you bring a pocket dictionary English-Portuguese-English, you can to buy in the local airport.
