GUYS...A WARNING FOR EVERYBODIES...
I've been at the Hotel Rosa Nautica in Natal Brazil...and the first day
400 euro disappeared from the security box inside my room..at first i
thought that maybe i left them at home but then the very next day 200
more disappeared again....and the security box was intact...(the key
was very well hidden inside my lagguage that was locked!!!!!!!)
...of course they have a second key....
Talked with the boss of the hotel who to fix the problem tried to offer
me 2 FREE NIGHT!!!!!! WHAT A POOR MAN....
I talked with some people on the street/beach and it seems that such a
problems are common in this hotel....
Wonder why they are still on business...

Since international tourism to Natal is quite new, there are no really touristraps (yet!).
But there is a lot of people try to sell a lot of different things on the beach to you. If you not are intressed just say "Obrigado", and they just walk away. But there is also children trying to beg and sell things to you on the beach. DONT give ore buy anything from them, because this makes them go to the beach instead of going to the school. Don't be fooled by the attractive website of this Pousada. It's on a steep hill, within close range of a very dodgy area, electrified fences are an indication of this. The "sea view" is likely to be partly obscured by advertising hoardings and some friends recently found that despite paying a deposit, their room had been taken and they were dumped into another Pousada. There are plenty to choose from in Natal, avoid this one.

Many tourists raved about taking the jeep tour through the dunes of Genipabu.
Genipabu is a nearby beach resort. My friend Gisele has a beach house there, facing the beach. It was great, as we could hear the sounds of the waves all through the night.
According to her, when she was a child, the dunes of Genipabu were 4 times higher than they are now. Something is seriously and ecologically wrong now. It seems sand is no longer feeding the dunes. So, you are looking at 'dying' dunes.
Hence, it pained me a lot to see many many jeep tours relentlessly offering rides around the dunes. There are also some unfortunate camels brought to the dunes here for tourists' rides. Sigh... don't they get it? Camels are made for desert walking, NOT dune walking. Their centre of gravity is too high and it makes them uncertain about their steps. Poor dears. Leave a Comment
