  • AQUI: Overall the best restaurant in town

by travelingtim Written Sep 22, 2011
    1 more image

For such a small town I was surprised to find 4-5 places that could provide what I would call a decent meal. Of these, AQUI was definitely my favorite. About 50m off the main street and up the hill, this place has undoubtedly the best location of all the restaurants in town, with quailty of food and service to match.
The filet mignon 'AQUI' that I had was possibly the best steak I've ever tasted, and my girlfriends tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious!! We went there 3 times during our 10 day stay :-)

Favorite Dish: Filet AQUI - possibly the best steak I ever ate!
    Tuna - superb
    Fish of the day
basically everything we ate was delicious!....

  • Tapas: Best new addition to Pipa

by Samuella Written Dec 22, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In my opinion this is the single best restaurant in Pipa. Some very skilled chefs work in this casual yet stylish eaterie just off the main street of Pipa. Always full, English speaking staff, order one or two of their fabulous dishes from the daily blackboard.

Favorite Dish: No competition on this, the rare tuna steak with sesame seeds is well known. That said my friend who lives in Pipa has gone through the entire menu and loves everything on it. The finest ingredients are used.

Favorite Dish: Mozambique prawns, prawn moqueca, tamarind prawns, carne do sol - you can't really go wrong here.

  • El Rancho da Pipa: Best steak in town!

by Samuella Written Dec 22, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

El Rancho da Pipa is undoubtedly the best steakhouse in Pipa and the local's favourite.

A very short climb up a very steep hill (turn off the main road at Bar Oz, formerly Grand Café and walk around 30m) will deliver you to this meat lover's paradise. The portions are massive and incredible value - a single portion of steak (around 8 Euros) will actually be delivered to your table as 3 steaks, chips, rice, black beans, salad and farofa - this can sometimes feed two! A portion for 2 will bring 5 steaks to your table....come hungry.

A good reliable favourite that we always visit in Pipa - can't wait to go back there

Favorite Dish: Best steak is without a doubt the picanha, with or without garlic, and try the delicious macaxeira chips as you can have potato chips anytime.

    Garagem: Beach side restaurant

Great place built like a boat right on the main beach in Pipa. Great food, stunning views and you can literally walk straight in out of the water.

Wonderful towards the end of the day to sit and watch the surfers in the distance and the game of football right in front.

Nice in the evening too, away from all the action up in the town.

This open air creperie serves excellent salted and sweet crepes. It also has a very hip and nice ambiance. Large list of different crepes to choose from. Service wasn't very good and it was very slow.

Favorite Dish: Chicken and catupiri cheese crepe.

    the capixaba moqueca

This is a very nice restaurant with a sea view, on the way to the village beach. The dishes are mainly seafood. You must try their " capichaba Seafood moqueca", a seafood dish very tasty , with white rice as a side dish. The ambiance is nice and the service is quite good. One of the best places to eat in Pipa.

    Favorite Dish: Seafood moqueca.

Vivenda: Average restaurant with nice people

    by tere1 Updated Aug 1, 2006

This restaurant was average, though the people were nice and the service was good. I had a fish dish which was average. Its location is right in the center of Pipa, on the main street. It's one of the oldest restaurants in the village.

Pousada Toca da Coruja Restaurant: Best food in Pipa

    by tere1 Updated Aug 1, 2006

The Pousada Toca da Coruja restaurant served the best food I had in Pipa. Though the prices are a bit high, the food is very good and tasty, well presented. They serve only a few dishes, mainly seafood , but everything is fresh. It's specially tasty when you have it by the pool, for lunch. The service is excellent!

At night , the ambiance gets very romantic, with candlelights.

Favorite Dish: Casquinha de siri and coconut shrimp

THE WEIGHT OF WHAT YOU EAT!

by janaina Written Sep 28, 2002

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Restaurants using this sistem in Brazil, became extremely popular all over the country, and it deserves,as it's the best &cheap way to eat : there's a buffet, you take your plate, serve as much as the plate can handle, and before to going to pay,you have to weight your food - the price will be calculated by the weight, besides the weight of the plate itself,of course!
We went to " ESPACO VERDE " SELF SERVICE,it was just fabulous, and much cheaper than all the others!!

Even I left my heart ( and stomach ) in Jack's on the beach, this restaurant is also a good choice.
We went on tuesday when Jack's was closed, but it didn't loose a lot to Jack's regarding the menu, only the view in Jack's is better then here!
Menu:octopussy, shrimps, calamaris, crabs, fish soup (realy delicious!),muqueca (a tipical food made with fish).
    In front of Pipa's beach!
