  • Adventure Park / Rope Course....

Aerial Adventure Parks are a series of courses linking tree platform to tree platform with bridges and zip lines. You travel through the forest on an aerial trek anywhere from 15 to 50 feet in the air! The park in Pipa is inside of a beautiful atlantic forest reserve and is the largest and most varied one in the state of Rio Grande do Norte,...

  • Praia do Amor (Love Beach)

Praia do Amor has this name due its heart shape and for the fact that in this beach the foreigners used to deal with the nature practicing nudism. Praia do Amor is also loved by the surfers, because of its very high waves. The Praia do Amor is only accessible by car, as it's a bit far from Pipa's center.

  • Baia dos Golfinhos

Baia dos Golfinhos is a wonderful long white sand beach and it's a dolphin sanctuary. It's situated in Ponta do Madeiro beach, about a 10 minute drive from the center of Pipa. You can see the dolphins in the sea appear in this place to feed themselves and to play, being also possible swimming with them every day more frequently in the morning.There...

  • Do a buggy tour

You shouldn't stick to your resort or Pousada while in Pipa. Hire a buggy with a driver and take a tour to the south, to Sangi, next to the Paraiba state border. You will go through the different beaches, have a bath at the Cocacola Lagoon, see the villages and the coast. Finish it with a nice seafood lunch in a local seaside restaurant.Your...

  • Hit the Surrounding Beaches

As might be expected from a beach resort, time is best spent around Pipa tanning, swimming, surfing, or just enjoying the special views. While the beach fronting the town is OK, the surrounding beaches are far better.

  • Overall the best restaurant in town

For such a small town I was surprised to find 4-5 places that could provide what I would call a decent meal. Of these, AQUI was definitely my favorite. About 50m off the main street and up the hill, this place has undoubtedly the best location of all the restaurants in town, with quailty of food and service to match. The filet mignon 'AQUI' that I...

  • Best new addition to Pipa

In my opinion this is the single best restaurant in Pipa. Some very skilled chefs work in this casual yet stylish eaterie just off the main street of Pipa. Always full, English speaking staff, order one or two of their fabulous dishes from the daily blackboard. No competition on this, the rare tuna steak with sesame seeds is well known. That said...

  • Classy restaurant, great food

Beautiful restaurant right on the main street of Pipa......try any of the prawn dishes for a real treat. Great service and decent value. The restaurant is very nicely done out. Great to watch the world go by. Considered one of Pipa's best. Mozambique prawns, prawn moqueca, tamarind prawns, carne do sol - you can't really go wrong here.

  • Best steak in town!

El Rancho da Pipa is undoubtedly the best steakhouse in Pipa and the local's favourite. A very short climb up a very steep hill (turn off the main road at Bar Oz, formerly Grand Café and walk around 30m) will deliver you to this meat lover's paradise. The portions are massive and incredible value - a single portion of steak (around 8 Euros) will...

  • Beach side restaurant

Great place built like a boat right on the main beach in Pipa. Great food, stunning views and you can literally walk straight in out of the water. Wonderful towards the end of the day to sit and watch the surfers in the distance and the game of football right in front. Nice in the evening too, away from all the action up in the town.

Pipa Transportation

  • Buggy is the way to go!

If you don't rent a buggy or hire a driver you will stick to your resort or to Pipa's center, depending on where you're staying. So my advice is to rent a car (buggy is more fun and airy) and drive around to see the beaches, the landscapes, go to Natal, to Ponta de Cunhau, drive in the dunes, go south to the Sagi area, just don't stick to the...

Pipa has lots of shops and Brazil is well known for its good shopping, which is usually very inexpensive. • Caipirinha drinking

Caipirinha is the Brazilian typical drink. Usually you will be offered one when you check in at the Pousada or resort. It's a very good drink, made from cachaça ( strong kind of brandy), lime , sugar and ice.Be careful though, cause it's easibly drinkable and it's too strong, though you won't notice it. You'll get drunk after a couple of them:)

Pipa Warnings and Dangers

  • Police bribes

Watch out when driving around Pipa and Natal in general. We got pulled in by a squad car containing 4 cops as we pulled away from a shop in Pipa. My friend who was driving had not yet put his seatbelt on. The demanded a fine of 124 reals which we didn't have as we were on our way to the bank to change money, so they took $50 instead! • Bath in coke....

Go and see the Coke Lagoon, where you can have a nice bath. It's called like that because the water has the coke colour. It's because of the vegetation that there is inside the lagoon which gives the water the coke colour. It's situated south of Pipa and it's usually in the itinerary when you do a buggy tour.
