    Indian Bride

    by pepples46 Written Jan 16, 2004

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: they married early, from 14 year on, had a bundle of kids and a lot of work. their life expectations was around 40 to 45 years.
Life on a Mission as I knew it has, thank god, changed dramatically. now the Native Indians are free to choose where to and how to live
she is a Kainga woman, one of the Indian tribes who lived in west of Rio Grande do Sul, have a look at the map....Guarani's lived more sporadic in this area, always travelling between the Countries of Brasil, Argentina and Paraguay.

Fondest memory: when I look at my photos, I think back and wonder what has become of the people I have lived and worked with for a period of my and their lifes.
I still have contact with the teacher you see on the pic but with the native Indians I have not, and my friends don't realy know what have become, when we left the mission.
we where 5, and worked together for 2 years, young and eager to do well in our first jobs. we had to grew fast, the enviroment was a little hostil, deep in the selva, low jungle area. around 50km from 'civilisation' getting there took as a half a day on unbelievable dirt roads, our Jeeps Willis unter real pressure, the tyres gave up more often then not......
