Explore Arraial do Cabo
The most beautiful beaches...
talitaferreira Says:
Arraial do Cabo is a very small city (village) that has many beautiful beaches. There is nothing really good to do there besides to be at the beaches. At night, it`s better to go to Cabo Frio (8 km) or Buzios (30 km) to enjoy the night at bars, restaurants, to shop or just...
Scuba in Arraial do Cabo
Fernandocramos Says:
One of the best places for scuba in Brasil. The water is a little cold but the vusibility is great. arraial is considered one of the most blue beaches in Brasil. Its near Rio de Janeiro, around 2 hours by car.
Ilha do Farol
RafaGoes Says:
This island is just off Arraial and its easy to visit. Here you'll find one of the best beaches of its region, i liked soo much of this beach and this place, so i'm really suspect to say anything except good things, but its terrific !!
THE BEACHES,OF COURSE!
janaina Says:
"Discovered many years ago by Americo Vespucio,PRAIA DOS ANJOS(the angels beach) has beautiful turquoise water, but a little too much boat traffic for comfortable swimming. The favouirte beaches are:PRAIA DO FORNO,PRAIA BRAVA and PRAIA GRANDE.Stechting along a pretty piece of...

MexTraveler Says:
Small clean pousada, across the street from the beach.
It has it's own parking and pool. Some rooms have a beach view with a deck.Excelent place for the money.

We satyed in a camping area, and went to shopping in a grocery store in Cabo Frio, than we had our own food without any restaurant's visitations.
Most of the time we ate fresh fried fish!!

GETTING THERE
Helpfulness

We had a car but in case you stay in Cabo Frio's hotels, the municipal bus from Cabo Frio (around $ 0.40) loops around Arraial and returns to Cabo Frio every 20 minutes.
It's also a good idea for those going to party in Cabo Frio when knowing drinks will run,to take the bus!!
By car,the old coastal road takes longer than BR-101,but provides a beautiful, level route winding around foggy green mounds.
There are regular buses also from Rio and Niteroi, costing about $6.

GET YOUR TRAVEL TIPS FROM CABO FRIO OR BUZIOS!

There's no tourist informaton desk in Arraial!
If you want to get tips for your stay there, ask the tourist information in Cabo or Buzius!
I think there's no need for tourist information in Arraial as the layout is fairly straightforward, and the attractions are the beaches!
The post office is in Castelo Branco square.

DUNES
janaina Says:
The beauty of the dunes starts in Cabo Frio,on the way to Arraial you have "DAMA BRANCA" dunes(the white lady). The dunes can be dangerous because of robberies,so get advise from the locals before heading out to the beaches and dunes!!!
THE BLUE GROTTO
janaina Says:
Don't miss it!!To get to Blue Grotto,on the fair side of Cabo Frio, ask fishermen at PRAIA DOS ANJOS for a boat trip,it should coast about $20.Be alert to the tides:the entrance to the underwater cavern isn't always open!!
Diving with Mr. Diver
MexTraveler Says:
Very professional and knowledgable on the area dive sites.
Bring your own or rent with them. rentals are very resonable priced.
GUESS??DIVING!!
janaina Says:

A BIT HISTORY
janaina Says:
The formely Cabo Frio District comprised Cabo Frio(the most populous town),Buzius(the wealthy ,sophisticated resort) and Arraial(which has since become independent politically and economically, beacause of its salt industry).According to Marcio Verneck,a local historian,Cabo...
LAKES REGION
janaina Says:
This region is basically the cities of Buzios,Cabo Frio and Arraial Do Cabo.Arraial Do Cabo is an incredible peninsula with seven attarctive beaches. Here the locals are a bit more innocent and less exposed to the volum of tourism that the neighboring towns...
