Winter in Buzios is not as hot as in northeast area, but, for an European, it's, all year round, an excellent weather to the beach.
I guess that it would be impossible to have all those beaches so free in high season (we tried them all, everywhere feeling at ease). More than that, the prices...

That is the only nude beach in the regeon, actually the second nude beach in the State of Rio. Marcio and I are very curious fellows, and we took the path to the beach, very difficult access full of wild bees. Bees are real threaten in the way to the beach. Unfortunately one bee decided to give Marcio a kiss in the leg, thanks God it was not in the place wea re thinking about, hahahah :)
The beach itself is very beautiful, and the beach is open to everybody! In fact, swimming naked is something really weird and pleasant, hahahaha :) I was a little bit afraid of the jelly fish, hahahha :))))
Olho de Boi means BULL'S EYES, I really do not know why they name this beach, and remember is a tough way to go to the beach, you have to be a real adventurous spirit!;) In some cases you have to wear tennis shoes, and beware of the bees!
But remember, respect the others and you will be respected as well!
I am not a nudist, but as a very good researcher and explorer I am, I have got to be everywhere!;)
this is the first picture taken of Olho de Boi in this VT Community!

Swimming in Ilha Feia is not a usual thing to do, you only go there if the sea condition is fine, becausde it is far from the Bay of Buzios, the Island has the name "ugly" in it, but it is not ugly at all, actually it is a protected area with a rich fauna and flora in it, there are very rare species there!
This picture is impressive, it was a real jump for freedom that my friend Elton did, he has a very busy life in New York and coming across with so many beauty, it is almost an orgasm!;)

I am not a good diver as Elton is, but I had the pleasure to swim in these clear waters, it is really unique for visitors being in a special place like this!
Ilha Feia is something unique, you can also rent a boat with the fishermen to spend more time there, with the boat tours you are only allowed to stay there for 25 minutes!
When you go to Buzios, do your best to go to Ilha Feia!;)

Buzios is also very intersting if you explore the city by car, there are several roads which leads you to many incredible ocean corners. In the picture you can see one very nice view from the road, this is the ocean part of Buzios, where the shore is absolutely dramatic.

Hallo...this is me in one of my trips to buzios, this time I was with my great friend Marcio exploring the cobbled stone roads of Buzios and each stop had one surprise and one magnificent view!
Here from the top of a hill you can see the ebach of Joao Fernandes, one of the most beautiful beaches of the resort!

yeah you got us all with that loaded question haha
it really depends on what you want in a beach, but for me, it has to be something magical. i think a lot of it depends on mood and company.
the best beach experience i had was in brazil. there's a small "resort"town called buzios that has a beach you walk to. it takes about 20 mins from the main cobble-stone town center. it's called praia azeda. locals know where to find it. (it's not hard to find). on the way, there are locally owned shops, little colonial houses and a small chapel. upon arriving, you will see it from atop a small hill, and in realizing the isolation and beauty, you will scurry down the path to stake your claim.
it's an inlet, a bit rocky with warm deep water, few people, (depending on time of year and day), one lone fishing boat bobbing in the green water. with the sun on your face or lush trees to rest under, it's private. you can see islands from it's brown sugary sand. it's clean, calm and quiet and every now and again, a food vendor will come to give you refreshment.
it's absolutely magical.
(p.s. this is not my photo. all of mine are in printed form, so i pulled this one off the internet. )

People the world over, have heard of Brazil and even more excitedly of RIO de janeiro. But I found this place called Buzios about 2 hours drive from Rio to be even more exciting:-) Its like being in a small beach community where you can become a local almost instantly. The people are friendly and so are the attitude of the beach goers. One can rent little cars to drive around the little town of Buzios as well.
And the seafood is without a question mouth watering and the freshest that I have had in a long time..

Tartaruga beach. it is the beach where all the boat tours stop for lunch time. it is a paradise, and once you got there, you do not want to go back!
