Mr Brad: Trendy Italian and Local

by DSwede Written Jan 13, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are literally hundreds of places to eat and drink in Buzios. The vast majority are only just of marginal quality since the average tourist will dine at each restaurant just once before leaving town, therefore they don't worry to keep repeat business. Mr Brad restaurant is a good restaurant, but not great. The service is average for local standards.

However they do have large tables inside for big groups. They also have outside patio seating if you like to sit in the fresh air and watch people walking buy.

Favorite Dish: The pasta is decent, as are the local Brazilian dishes. The grilled fish was surprisingly good, moist and flavorful.

Buzin: Expensive but good Kilo place

by racheljapi Updated Apr 4, 2011

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a very nice Kilo place so it's obviously not as cheap as most. You have everything you can imagine to choose from. It does cost about R$3.30 per 300g but it's worth it. The food melts in your mouth.

Favorite Dish: The steak is a bit fatty at times but the Sushi is very good. The different pastas are also wonderful.

Xavier Na Caixa Thai Restaurant: Thai :)

by JohnniOmani Written Dec 12, 2009

The owner of this place is French guy who fell in love with Brazil. He is chopstick wielding kickboxer who wons a thousand awards for his kickboxing. After hanging up his gloves and after years in Thailand, he decided to open up his own restaurant (he is a classically trained chef from France) in Buzios. The result is cheap, authentic Thai that is fantastic. He is really fun to talk too as well. Great place and great guy.

Favorite Dish: Captain Tao, Maestro Thay, Arroz Thay and just about everything else.

Restaurante David: a taste of Brazilian food

by rkearns Written Jan 12, 2009

This is where we went to have what we call "real" Brazilian food". Although in the summer there can be a lot of mosquitos and flies in this restaurant with open windows, we were happy with the service and the selection and quality of the food.

    Tartaruga: Secluded Beach Very Romantic

by anacapa Written Dec 22, 2008

This place is right on the water in a secluded beach. There seemed nothing around it. Though I was there only at night. And someone else drove. I have no idea where this place is, but I recommend it if you can find it!!

Favorite Dish: Batida de Coco! To die for!

A Pomba Restaurant: Don't miss the fresh Seafood

    by jwilliams2005 Updated Oct 9, 2007

The selection of cuisine was extensive. The ambience was great, and the service was impeccable. I chose the grilled filet Dorado, and it was very tasty, and the price was very reasonable. While enjoying the beach activities, I met a nice couple from Argentina. The waiter came to our beach chairs and served us before having lunch.

Favorite Dish: The grilled Dorado fish was delicious ! Prepared and cooked to perfection...

    Thai Food

    by leahkin52 Written May 2, 2007

The restaurant is in the busy waterfront section of the town, so it will be expensive. There are a lot of tourists. But its very pretty and the food was just great. I know it may not be the expected thing to get Thai food in Brazil. But the dish I had was better than any I have had here in the states!

Favorite Dish: It was a fish and fruit dish....just amazing. I stayed away from the curries, this was light and flavorfull. Recomended!

Estancia Don Juan: Great food with a Tango Show

by HELEN Updated Mar 14, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is an Argentinean restaurant with a typical decor. It's located in the heart of the cobblestone downtown area in Buzios. There's a live tango show on Tuesday nights that starts at 9:30. The outside seating area is very cute and perfect for people watching. There're no cars driving through the main streets of downtown Buzios, so may people just casually walk up and down the streets. The inside is cozy too, and if listening to the tango music isn't enough, it's perfect for watching.

Favorite Dish: They offer a variety of steaks prepared to order and a choice of sauces to have it cooked or garnished with. I had a type of Chicken Parmesan dish and my friend had one of the steaks made to order. Both were very YUMMY!

Don Juan Restaurant: Best Argentina meat!

    by tere1 Written Sep 1, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is an excellent Argentinian restaurant situated in the Rua das Pedras. It serves maily barbecued meats from Argentina.

The ambiance is quite sophisticated and at the same time laidback. The food is delicious and its main dishes are the Picanha and the Chorizo Steak. The desserts are also delicious. We had the After Eight dessert, mint ice cream with hot chocolate sauce and the passionfruit mousse.

A bit expensive but you will have a good meal here, with a nice atmosphere specially if you have dinner while they are having tango shows at the time.

Favorite Dish: The Picanha and the After Eight dessert.

    Satyricon Restaurant: Great food!

    by tere1 Written Aug 31, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This restaurant is situated next to the Rua das Pedras, in Orla Bardot, right in the center of Buzios. It serves excellent italian food and seafood.

There is a good selection of starters and main dishes, from pastas and risoti to grilled meats , fish and seafood. Everything is very fresh here and really tasty. Along with all this there is also a sushi bar.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere . Prices are a bit high but worth the money as you will have an excellent meal here. I specially liked the Fettucine Satyricon, with ham, mushrooms and parmesan cheese along with a cream sauce. For dessert try their wonderful tiramisu.
