Nothing better than visiting the beaches of Buzios in a Escuna (Schooner), very easy to get into a boat tour and they will take you to the greatest beaches of Buzios, with very nice stops in hidden bays and a lunch in a private beach, typical food specially seefood!!!

I simply forget about the time when I go there!!!

That pic was taken ages ago.....And I was caught sleeping!!!

    How to get there?

by ThiagoRamos Written Sep 26, 2006

Búzios is located 166 Km north of Rio de Janeiro. The best ways to get there are by car or by bus.

Buses from Rio depart from Novo Rio Bus Station (around 12 buses per day) and cost around US$10 (R$23,00). The trip will probably take 2 hours but can take longer on holidays...

Most hotels and pousadas in Búzios can arrange direct transfers to Búzios from your hotel or from the airport in Rio. This service costs from R$70 (around US$32) to R$120 (around US$54) depending on the car and on how many people are coming with you.

How to go to Buzios - - By Car

    by tere1 Written Sep 1, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Búzios is located at 105 miles NE from the city of Rio de Janeiro. Many international and Brazilian airlines offer non-stop flights to the modern and busy Rio de Janeiro International Airport. From this Gateway you can reach Búzios either by air, sea or by road.

    By Car:

Approximately one hour and fifty minutes from Rio de Janeiro. After passing the toll on the Rio-Niterói bridge, take a left in the direction of Rio Bonito. Soon after arriving at Rio Bonito, take a right onto "Via Lagos" in the direction of Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region). Stay on this highway. When it ends, continue more 4 miles until reaching a large Ipiranga gas station at the entrance of São Pedro da Aldeia. Take a left at the gas station and then immediately turn right onto RJ-106 in the direction of Macaé/Búzios. Some 8 miles later you will come to the "Até que Enfim" gas station, where you will turn off to the right. From this point, Búzios is some 10 minutes away.

    Rent a buggy!

    by tere1 Written Sep 1, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you don't want to be stuck in the center of Buzios, rent a buggy. Buzios is a large peninsula and the beaches are very spread so you will need a transport to go from one place to another.

Better than a car is to rent a buggy. They are fun to drive and walk around and very airy !
You can rent a buggy from R$ 75.00 per day. There are several places to do it, one of them is Malizia Tour.

    Buggies

    by sof76 Written Apr 10, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

You can rent a buggie to move arround and check all the beaches in Buzios! I think it's worth doing it!
Be carefull, cause if you want to go outside Buzios you'll need a car. Buggies are not allowed in routes!

    Transportation to and in Buzios

    by Vanessa-brNC Written Jul 14, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I've seen a lot of people trying to rent cars to drive to Buzios from Rio.
That's not a good idea in my option. The car rental thing is just not that developed in Brazil. It is cheaper and more convinient to take a shuttle (many travel agencies in Buzios offer it) to and back from Buzios - they drop you off at the hotel, and it is about R$40/person/each way.
In Buzios, you can rent a buggy. Much cheaper and easier to park. If it rains you'll get wet, but hey, you're at the beach so lighten up.
You can also take taxis in Buzios - from downtown just go to the taxi stop (R$15 to most places from downtown) and from the hotel//house, just call them to come get you.

HAHAHAH the Post would love this picture!

hahahahahaha Another paparazzi picture, I have not noticed that this picture was taken, but it is a very nice and funny one, it shows how cheerful my good friend Marcio Omatsu is, and it also shows his generous smile, he is really a very pleasant company.

Well, in Buzios you can have a different way to take a taxi, it is a boat which connects the main beaches in the resort.

It is called BOAT TAXI, for very few reais you can also enjoy the landscapes.

Each destination has a price, and it cannot be more than 15 reais!

I use this service alot in Buzios, and you can make use too!;)
