There is also a lovely winter garden. They have also live music at dinner time playing mostly brazilian songs but also international music.
I love the grilled Picanha that comes with black beans, rice and french fries. A typical brazilian dish. Leave a Comment

'Time Out - Rio de Janeiro' and 4Rodas Guides describe it as a top restaurant in Paraty.
My favourite dishes are many. TODAY my favourite dish would be the shrimp spanish style, grilled with garlic, smells like heaven. The waiter opens the bowl with the shrimps, and throws rice inside (in front of you, on the table), and mixes the rice with the shrimps and garlic sauce... what can we say? This little restaurant is in a traditional house just off the main street and gave us one of our best meals in Brazil, a tasty chicken curry cooked in the local cachaça (sugar cane rum).
Because it’s so long since we were there I’ve copied the following review from Frommer’s website to give a more up-to-date description of the menu:
“This beautiful little restaurant on one of Parati's side streets offers exotic combinations of seafood and tropical ingredients. Ponta Negra is a fabulous fish dish served in a coconut sauce with shrimp. Another dish stars the lowly squid dolled up with a banana-and-cheese stuffing and served in coconut milk. Another seafood favourite is the risotto with squid, crab, and prawns spiced with ginger and chutney. Desserts include banana sweets or baked banana.”

It is open every day from 11am to 10pm.
The menu changes daily but it is always prepared with a lot of attention and care. They offer a great variety of cold salads, grilled and vapoured vegetable, meat, fish and other sea food dishes, risotto, pasta and all kind of tropical fruit and most of the recipes based on regional cookery. Grilled meat and fish are prepared all the time and therefore always fresh.
I was really lucky to discover Sabor da Terra already the first evening and since then I was their constant guest. Usually I took some sea food, grilled vegetable, rice, fruit and choose the dishes that were typical of the region. Everything that I tried was really yummy. The owner is a nice and simple person who makes ice cream with his own hands observing the highest quality of natural ingredients. He likes to do experiences, a sort of researcher in the art of ice cream making. He has developed very light and natural formula to produce it. What he sells today is result of many years of work.
The choice of flavours is endless; from (mostly) tropical fruits as acai, cupuacu, graviola, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, strawberry, melon... to creamy ones as chocolate, tapioca, pistachio, coconut and other nuts... The good thing is that SorveTErapia is self-service 'a kilo' place so you can sample various flavours. My favourites are cupuacu, acai, mango, tapioca and coconut. Thin crust pizza in Brazil is excellent. The crust os paper thin and crispy and it's cooked in brick ovens just like in Naples. The food here was exceptionally good - pasta and pizza were excellent.
The live bossa nova duo in the back garden was thoroughly enjoyable. We liked them so much, we ordered more wine and dessert just to hear a few more songs.

We saw lots of publicity advertising this place. There were no outstanding restaurants in Parati, just good ones; We wanted to see something around town; So, why not? It's not a cheap restaurant (neither expensive) it is professionally organized to sell the landscape and ambience to tourists, mixed with the meals and handicrafts, but... it's nice.
