Hard Rock Cafe, Rio de Janeiro
My first party in an american franchise company and in a shopping mall, but this place was really happening on Saturday night. A better mix of people than in most other places (not just upperclass, but also middleclass) and a huge terassa to hang out. Music: Good mix by DJ Alejandre
Dress Code: Casual
I am not normally a Hard Rock Cafe fan, but this place becomes a happening dance club at night. The crowd is around 18-30 years old. The DJ plays good music....pop music (mainly American and British). I went on a Saturday night and stayed until 5 am!! Oh and if it gets hot or crowded inside, you can go to the outside patio where there are plenty of benches to sit and talk or get some air. People normally start getting there around 11:30 pm.
Also, if you want to see more pictures of people that go there, lots of pictures are at
http://www.noiteuniversitaria.com.br You have to signup for free with your e-mail address AND the website is all in Portuguese......have fun!
About paying, they will ask you your name and look at your ID when you come inside (you will probably have to wait in a long line - depending on how late you arrive). They will give you what looks like a credit card, every time you get a drink from the bar you give them your card. At the end of the night you have to go to the cashier to pay what you owe. There is a minimum charge, even if you don't drink.
