Confeitaria Colombo, Rio de Janeiro

First time I went to Rio, I had a great lunch in a very nice place. The chocolat cake was awesome (I love chocolat) and the pastel de nata was excellent. Unfortunately, the next time the owners had changed, so had the food :-( A nice restaurant to go to is Confeitaria Colombo in the Centro. The building is beautiful and the food is decent ! Anyway it's worth the visit.
The building is absolutely beautiful. The 'salon de thé' is downstairs and the restaurant up-stairs.

Favorite Dish: It's a buffet so you can eat lots of different food. Check the brazilian food (cus hey ! you're in Rio !).

CONFEITERIA COLOMBO
It is a very elegant place that would qualify as one of the finest coffeehouses even in Vienna.

Favorite Dish: Guarana Antarctica - I know it's not special to this restaurant and that it's a sort of soft drink, but it was a very hot day when I toured the Centro and the Guarana that I drank there was at the same time the one I drank in the most beautiful location.

Thats a stunning Victorian tearoom with high ceiling and lots of mirrors. Great sanwiches and nibbles as well as teas and coffees. An excellent break from shopping in the centre or sightseeing.
