Fellini, Rio de Janeiro

Fellini is a kilo buffet which means you go through a buffet pick out all of the delicious food you want, and then weigh it to get a price. The price is very reasonable and the food is out of this world. Everything is made from scratch and Fellini uses very high quality ingredients. The pastas are all made in house and they have the best raviolli and gnocci i have ever tasted. The filet mignon is juicy and so flavorful, it comes medium rare on the buffet which is how i like it but if you want your steak more well done they will happily accomodate you and fix you up one more well done. There is fresh sushi that tastes so fresh, and it seems everyone really enjoys the sushi selection. The menu changes every day, which makes it an exciting place to try more than once and see what will be on the buffet the next day. There is a very big dessert slection and everything is made there, the cakes are out of this world! There is a little bit of everything for everyone whether you want fish, chicken, vegetarian, beef, a healthy option, or something to splurge on, Fellini does a great job at balancing the menu every day so that everyone will be satisfied with thier meal. Fellini has won numerous award for being the best kilo in Rio and the owners and staff provide excellent and consistent service and always have a smile on their faces. Fellini is located in Leblon, and is very close to the beach! Please try this restaurant if you visit, you will be extremely satisfied and want to come back for more! I've given several recommendations for other kilo restaurants in Ipanema and Leblon, but this recently-discovered one (at General Urquiza 104, towards the end of Leblon) is currently my favourite. A bit more expensive than most (@ Rs$4.19 per 100g during the week, Rs$4.79 at w/es), but excellent value for the quality. Good variety (including sushi), and everything very tasty. Very popular, and you may need to queue, but it's worth it. Agreeable ambiance. Loyalty card gives you the right to a free meal after eating 10 there (and I shall!).

Favorite Dish: You can sample a little bit of everything from the generous buffet.

I liked to go to Fellini because it was close to the beach, so I could enjoy it a lot and then have lunch and take a nap at my hotel after lunch!!
The food there, is delicious and very gourmet. They have a vast variety of all kinds of food (pasta, meat, salad, etc...), and it's good because you can go there starving and eat a lot!!!
