La Mole is traditional restaurant in Rio.
the first Restaurant was opened in Leblon in 1958!
The one in Barra da Tijuca was opened in 1974.
Today they have several branches in Rio de Janeiro: in Copacabana, Botafogo, Downtown (city center), Leblon, Tijuca, etc.
Honestly I have only been to the branch in Barra.
I really love it there. It can be a little crowded on Weekends, but I have great memories of late family lunches after spending the day at the beach!
Favorite Dish:
My favorite dish is the good old "medalhão com arroz piemontêse" ("medallion beef with piamontese rice").
The chicken strogonoff is also a favorite!
They have great pizza too.
And you know, on Saturdays it is Feijoada day!
And for dessert: Quindim! I love it!
Nice local place in a veryn nice Shopping Mall.
Very nice ambient. Nice people and good service.
If you go to the Sugar Loaf, come down to Rio-Sul Shopping Mall walking... There is a beautiful church in your way... Gorgeous!!! Then you will see the Rio-Sul mall.
La Mole Restaurant is in the ground floor.

Favorite Dish:
I have this dish. Delicious... I am skinny but I do eat big meals... this one was amazing.
Carne seca desfiada com arroz, couve e tutu a mineira, R$9.80
Sorry, the only way to translate that is having this meal for lunch.
And don't forget to order a cold bear.
I wish they could the same dish over here and have the same flavor.
Generations of Cariocas have casually dined at the sidewalk cafe style restaurant in the stylish Leblon district of Rio since 1958. View real Carioca families at leisure at any time of the day in search of good food and a great urban neighborhood setting. Generations of ex-pats and others have enjoyed the surroundings, aware they are at La Mole's and just basking in the knowledge they are in one of Rio's favorite places.
Business was so good, La Mole's have sprung up in other neighborhoods, too. Photo was taken before breakfast as I walked down "Bonde Street " (Rua Dias Ferreira) where it nears Avenida Ataulfo de Paiva.
Favorite Dish:
The old fashioned Brazilian style mozzarella pizza, and all of the Guarana and Coke you can drink.
This popular chain of Italian restaurants is a good budget bet for lunch or dinner. It is a tradicional and not expensive restaurant , familiar ambience and with several kinds of dishes , menu in english too
For the prices, the food is surprisingly good -- particularly the lasagna, fettuccine, and gnocchi dishes -- and the servings are hearty. Other locations: Av.
