The food is great, the service is great and you can eat as much as you want. Try to take your time, however. The waiters are usually all over you trying to stuff as much steak into you as possible, so you end up stuffed and ready to leave in a relatively short period of time.
So sit, relax and take your time. The first trip is a serve yourself salad bar with top-notch salad items, sushi and various grilled fish. Once you sit down the steak brigade hovers around with many different cuts of meat that they carve onto your plate. Use the little tongs they give you to hold the meat while they cut. That way you'll also avoid a steak juice facial.
You are also given these discs with one side green and the other side red. Green means "give me more meat 'cause I wanna get huge". Red means "no more meat, I'm watching my figure". Honestly they pay no attention and just try and carve another cow onto your plate when you're not looking.

Favorite Dish: Churrasco
This is the high end tourist class steakhouse located in most locations of the city and surrounding and is detailed in every tourbook and easy to find whether you are in ipanema/leblon or copacabana as I think there are over 11 locations. Though it was the most expensive and all you can eat feast of every cut of beef plus chicken and pork cost less 46 reais which at the time of my travel comes to 16 US dollars. Drinks and dessert cost extra though unlikely to have room for the dessert after finishing with the large salad bar and parade of picanha, filet mignon, sirloin, chick, ribs, roast beef.
Favorite Dish: All the dishes were good the filet mignon with garlic was amazing as was the one with cheese. You get to choose two side dishes at a time, alternate after finishing as the farofa, bananas and molho companha(vinagrete). Mix black beans with whtie rice sprinkle some farofa and top your meat with the vinagrete and squeeze some lime take a sip from your chopp(beer) or carprinha and settle in for a enjoyable meal.
This is an authentic Charasquaria with food so good that I am drooling while typing. The price is about 15 US and is all you can eat. Numerous waiter wander around with swords full of some of the best beef you have ever tasted. Try and wait for the fillet migon sword to pass you by! Incredible service value and experience a can't miss while in Rio!!!!!

You pay appr. R 25 for the dinner, included the 10% for service. Not really too expensive for a european. But you WILL find simular restaurants in the area that asks for half the price.
Favorite Dish: It's a buffet restaurant with all the special Brazillian food. There are plenty of them in Brazil, but this is one of the nicer ones, but also one of the more expensive of the kind.
Eat as much as you like. Don't eat all day and then go at night, and make a pig of yourself.
Favorite Dish: Order the buffet style menu, about $8 US, and you can have as much as you want. Fish, Steak, Chicken, salad, rice. Tons and tons of stuff!!
Not really my favorite, but for sure a good place to go when starving and hungry for MEAT!!!! The Churrascaria Porcão (bbq house) is awesome for the meat lovers.
Favorite Dish: Try the Picanha, and the Maminha, the best pieces of cow meat.
Being a 'churrascaria', the waiters constantly bring big skewers and cutting portions off them on to your plate. This goes on and on until you turn your indicator red side up which is a signal to stop. The signaller may be as simple as coaster or a wooden hour glass with one end painted green and the other red. It is very reasonably priced restaurant: for the churrascaria part, the cost is US $12.00.

Typically, you get 2 or 3 different cuts of beef, chicken hearts, pork sausage, etc.
There is also a buffet table where you get condiments, salads/vegetables, and dessert.
There is not one particular Restaurant, that I remember in Rio. You do find a great variety of places in this international city. From the fast food places, such as McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken, to excellent Italian restaurants, as well as Churrasquerias where the menu is based in beef, and lots of it. One place that I went, they keep bringing meat to your table, over and over again, you have to be awfully hungry, to go to this place, and truly, enjoy beef.

You pay a unique price (drinks and dessert not included-so don´t drink too much caipirinha!!)and you have a huge buffet of everything (salads, sushi,hot meals, cheese...). And then the waiters pass with big swords (yeeeaaah)of differents kinds of meat and you choose and pick the slices with your fork!. Their trick it´s to make you eat very fast so you get stuffed and don´t eat more!. So, take it easy cause they keep coming all the time!. Don´t forget to bring an antiacid and no belt!!.Ha, ha!!

There is a good buffet section (greens, seafood etc.) and barbecue section where waiters offer a different meats (beef, pork, chicken, lamb, veal, sausages) as much you can eat.
Located south to Flamengo beach, facing the Sugarloaf. Very good service, fresh salad bar and even have sushi. Great view and great food!
