The atmosphere, the music and of course the food that waiters in turns were coming to serve you as much as you wanted with their huge brochettes of barbecue chicken, fish, meat and you name it.
The display of colorful fruits and tasty desserts where a pleasure to eyes as well to the palate.

Favorite Dish: I taste every kind os dishes.

The restaurant specializes in seafood. As you enter the restaurant you pass tanks full of live lobsters and trays of ice with large shrimp, oysters, clams and fresh fish on display.
This restaurant is high-end and expensive, but very worth it. On the night we were there, we spotted Raymond Blanc, the famous chef also eating there.
There are all kinds of seafood dishes on the menu including sushi...you can even have lobster sashimi, which they serve in the lobster tail with the head still attached and moving around, which is a little gross for some!
The wine menu is also extensive and it's best to explore the local wines if you don't want to pay over $100 for some New Zealand sauvignon blanc that you can get for $20 back in the US!
When you sit at the table, they bring you all kinds of nibbles to munch on while you look through the menu, so you may not always need an appetizer.

Favorite Dish: He had oysters to start and then chose one of the sushi dishes that came with a large variety of good eats. We both liked their version of the California roll, which comes with mango instead of avocado.
I had a small salad to start and then large grilled shrimp, which were flavorfull and delicious - they reminded me of a restaurant in Dunedin, New Zealand, which served probably the best grilled shrimp we've ever eaten - check out that tip!

I went with some friends after the beach to Via Sete and they have all these frozen juices that were delicious! My friends asked to have theirs with vodka, and they say that it tastes better than a caipirinha, because it’s frostier and not as sweet. I really enjoyed the place, since it’s right in the center of Ipanema, at Garcia Davila street (the fashion street) so we go out shopping right afterwards!

Favorite Dish: Brownie with vanilla ice cream.. it's very rich and it comes warm, which goes great with the frosty ice cream!

Satyricon serves delicious Italian food with an emphasis on seafood varieties. The restaurant is guaranteed to be crowded as it has been popular ever since it was visited by a few famous people, including Madonna. While I cannot say that it was the best Italian restaurant in Ipanema, it certainly does not disappoint, and although a little on the expensive side for Rio, it is not exorbitantly so. I would definitely return here.

The food is inspired, redefined, updated Brazilian. They offer vegetarian alternatives, use organic food when possible and give part of their profit towards the World Wildlife Fund.

Besides the deliciousness, the design and ambiance of this place is worth the stop!

This place is on a "Rodeo" drive part in Ipanema. This is near a Louis Vuitton and Cartier store so it is very nice. It is wood outside and has a patio. I did not explore the inside. There was a lot of locals eating there. Menu is not in english, waiters do not speak english, but I didn't ask if they did. Point away as usual.

Favorite Dish: This "filet" wasn't what I was expecting, but the food is good nonetheless. I would return here if I lived here.

This restaurant is in a great location in Ipanema. This restaurant is in a trendy location with amazing food and service for extremely good prices. The decor is very hip and exotic. I had salmon one night and a filet mignon the next night with 2 cocktails for about US$8.00.
