by XKuger Written Sep 18, 2002

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There a Zillion shops that sell an amazing array of bikinis a block away from Copacabana, Ipanema, Barra Shopping or Rio Sul.

Its a sight to se the amazing varieties of bikinis they sell. It totally amazed me as to how some stores can just stay in business selling just bikinies and that too so many of them.

    What to buy: All over

What to pay: Anything between earth & the sky.

The hippie market in Ipanema is once a week and a bit of a tourist market, but plenty of locals come here too.
It's quite a good laugh and a good place to pick up the latest t-shirt fashion in Rio.

    he limited shopping of Rio

The best shopping is found along the beach with people just trying get by by selling Brasilian souvineers. Most of the shops in the town don't offer anything special.

I noticed a few of these Zona Sul's around town, so if you need to stop and grab some groceries, this is a good place. This one is located in Copacabana off of Rua Bulhoes de Carvalho near Ipanema.

You could spend a day there among those hundreds little shops. You can eat little snack and grill food too.

What to buy: Very typical clothing and leather goods.

    Rodrigo Freitas Lake

What to buy: I have found extremely cheap prices for clothes and shoes. For example, for a pair of Timberland shoes which cost about £60 (R$300) in UK, I paid £20 (R$100) in Rio and they are not fakes!
