The Brazilian Lord by RTL by RafaelTheSecond If you decide to come to Rio you should come here. Here as the Pope (Little John!) said: GOD IS BRAZILIAN and in Rio he opens his arms! Once you are here you see that Rio is a sacred religion, it is an addiction, once you come here you start thinking about your next visit! This head was made in Paris by a polish sculptor which I do not know the name!;) So Brazil, Poland and France together in one same History! May 14th, 2005 Leave a Comment Address: PARQUE NACIONAL NA TIJUCADirections: The easiest and cheapest way to reach the top of Corcovado is by car entering the Tijuca National Park via Cosme Velho.

RIO DE JANEIRO by RTL by RafaelTheSecond Rio is magic, Rio is a cool mixture of Rio and Niteroi, and the Bay Area is simply gorgeous, you can see how close the cities are, and what an incredible harmony of beauties!;) when you go to the Christ you can see how unique our city is, it is good to know that so many people in the world do appreciate Rio. In the picture you can see the entrance of the Bay, two great landmarks when you approach the city from the Ocean, the Sugar Loaf in Rio's side and the Santa Cruz fortress in Niteroi! It is impossible to conceive a trip to Rio de Janeiro without paying a visit to the statue of Christ The Redeemer. Located at the top of Corcovado Hill, it is Brazil’s most known image throughout the world. Every year, over 300,000 people visit the statue of Christ using the centenary Corcovado Train, the oldest tourist ride in the country. The train dates back to 1884 which at the time was steam powered. Today the train runs on electricity and the journey time to the peak takes just 20 minutes and operates every thirty minutes. The cost of a ticket is R$36.00 (round trip, plus 50% discount bonus on Naif Museum of Art ticket) children under 5 years old go free and up to 12 years old only R$ 18, 00.

Corcovado - View Lagoa by MikeAtSea One of the top residential areas can be found adjacent to the Copacabana. The large lagoon that is connected to the Atlantic Ocean offers some of the most expensive residential apartments in Rio de Janeiro. With views to the ocean, the lagoon, golf courses and Corcovado it is another spectacular place of Rio de Janeiro. Leave a Comment

view from corcovado - rio de janeiro by dvideira This spot offers a 360° view to Rio. Come on a day with clear sky, and postcard photos are guaranteed. In here you see Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas ( and Ipanema and Leblon just in between the Sea and the Lagoon ) Leave a Comment

Corcovado statue photo would be better in morning. by glabah If you go to Corcovado, and you want the best photo of the Christ, be sure to visit in the morning. If you go in the afternoon, the sun rotates behind the statue so that the front of the statue is in shadow. This doesn't create a very good photograph. This photo, which is a detail of a photo on my Corcovado Railway Travelogue, illustrates the problem. It is an afternoon shot, and the sun has cast Christ in shadow. This photo, by the way, looks acceptable on my slide film due to the way the slide projector lights up the slide. Print film and scanning the slide film results in a much darker image and would have been better under morning light. This would have been an even worse problem during a day with brighter sunlight. This was a partially cloudy day!! Leave a Comment
