Goto the beaches. The scenery is the incredible with the islands and rock formations. Everything you could imagine is brought right up to you on the beach. Things were inexepensive compared to the states, I felt like everything was on sale all the time. The people were very friendly, and came from the land of the beatiful.

the Amazon River

by pepples46

one has to see and expirience the last of the great Rainforest and mighty River. Cities like Manaus, Santarem or Belem. a long way from Rio, an other world altogether. the trip down the River from Manaus to Belem, stopover in Santarem, 6 days amongst all sorts of people. the meaning of: we are all in one boat, was never more approbriate. at times it was stinking hot and someone played the guitar.the nites full of noises, birds yelling, macas anwser in their own noisy way. now and then a splash from the water below, jacares on the prawl...bad time to take a swim.mosquitos...when do they actually sleep?a trip of a lifetimeMANAUS
