Favorite thing: That is something you really can´t miss!! Take the boat that goes along the whole side of Mar de Dentro, at 6:00 AM or 6 PM, and you´ll have the chance to see the golphins making their journey either to the shore (early in the morning), or to the open sea(at dawn). To communicate, the leader usually jumps off the water...that´s why they are called "rotators", the most common species in the island.
And who needs Seaworld? =P

Favorite thing: When you arrive from Baia dos Porcos to Sancho, you will be able to see the beach right from above....in two angles...that one other thing you can´miss....the vie is amazing, you will se the water going to dark blue as the depth increases...
In this pic there´s the hill between Sancho and Baia dos Porcos....the best place to dive and snorkel in this beach...

Favorite thing: Supposing you had only one day to visit Noronha (that would be very sad...hehe), i think the best option for you to spend you day would be the promenade from Praia do Bode to Sancho. All you have to do is take a pair of shoes in a plastic bag, your snorkel, your watch for not to forget about coming back =P some water, sun protector and of course, your camera loaded with film!!! It´s a wonderful walk along the beach, where you will be able to see the water in all shades of blue possible, and the strangiest rock formations.
Apart from the shoes (since you will have to walk inside the hill when you get to baia dos Porcos) don´t forget, if you are going on your own to infrom yoursef about the tide during that specific season, so that you don´t have to swim your way back or wait for the tide to be low again...
After crossing Baia dos Porcos (=Pig´s Bay : P) you´ll reach a trail that will go up the hill, and it´s not hard...it leads to a spot where you will be able to see the bay from above and the two almost identical little mountains called Dois Irmãos (=Brothers) right in front...that´s the most famous postcard view of the island =)))))

Favorite thing: I got this map from http://www.noronha.pe.gov.br/eng/ (you can download a better resolution there)...it´s a very good site...they also have information on the preservation tax and a list with the prices in reais (brazilian currency).
There is another nice homepage with lots of info...it´s called Fernando de Noronha Online

Favorite thing: One of the most definitive experiences in Noronha is meeting the dolphins. Acutally, there is a place called ´Dolphin´s Bay´, where early in the morning you can watch the arrival of around 5 hundred dolphins to rest. It´s simply amazing!

Favorite thing: Unfortunetely the tourism does destroy the beauty of the island somehow. Like for exemple, the highest peak of the Island called "Morro do Pico" was once open to the public to go all the way up and see the view of the entire island, however, because of some idiots that did graffiti on the mountain, it was closed.
Also, there is a beach called Atalaia that is considered a natural aquarium, with lots of fishes and corals was also closed when I was there. Reason of this beach to be closed: the corals were being destroyed.
I really hope if we can keep this island as it is, without any more destruction. Why can't we enjoy the Island without taking anything from there or putting something that does not belong there?

Favorite thing: Fernando De Noronha was my first diving place, and,as a first time of everything, every single fish,or reef,or whatever moved in the water, was a lifetime undescrible meeting.
But,definately, the meeting with this turtle was my my best memory!
The green turtles from the archipelago are protected by a special national program called TAMAR,the professionals who work in this project, monitorize the habitat and life cicle of the turtles, and, most important, they close the beaches during the time the females are covering the eggs in the sand, and further, when the small young turtles make their traject from the sand to the sea,in their very first swin!!!
Fondest memory: Everyone who remember his first dive, know what I'm talking about..

Favorite thing: Baia Dos Porcos has a unique beauty, because its geological aspects:vulcanic dark stones, forming the mountains, and a deep light green water.
The rich coral reefs around this beach is strictly protected,it's forbiden to swin or dive in this area, you can only observe the sea from the hills.

Favorite thing: " Fernando de Noronha's island is considered to be an ecological preservation. So, to maintain its natural beauties untouched might be difficult for visitors who are not informed about its preservation laws. For that reason it is very important to highlight some tips so the visitors can be able to enjoy the island as much as possible".
