The Capitao dos Mares (Sea Captain) Bar is situated at the top of a cliff where the ruins of a fort can still be seen. The complete name of the fort is Forte Sao Pedro do Boldro, (Saint Peter of Boldro), but since you may want to ask directions, skip the hard part and just say Forte Boldro (everybody calls it just that).
Park your buggy and sit in the ruins to watch the sun go down. Grab something to eat and drink afterwards. Make sure you get there *before* it starts to get dark, because it can get rather crowded.
(You might also want to slap some insect repellant on before *you* become a sunset cocktail bar for the local mosquito population.)

The park service, IBAMA, runs nightly lectures and slide shows on topics related to the natural environment of Noronha. The lectures typically start at about 9 pm and discuss spinner dolphins, turtles, sharks, and so on. The lectures are free of charge. As part of the celebrations of it's 500th anniversary, the island of Fernando de Noronha hosted a weeklong festival of Brazilian full-length motion pictures. A large screen was set up at the end of the plaza in front of the church, and spectators sat on the wide church staircase to view the films.
Although all the films were in Portuguese, without subtitles, many foreign visitors attended the shows just to get a look at the different locales where the films were shot and to see actors mostly unknown outside Brazil ply their trade. It was fun for everybody with the atmosphere and conviviality. It is certainly worthwhile asking whether there are any special events like this one going on while you are on the island.

There aren't many nightlife options on Noronha, but if you're up for some local color, try the Bar do Cachorro on an open-air terrace near the Praia do Cachorro beach in Vila dos Remedios. You can dance to the rhythms of the "forro", a fast-paced syncopated style of music that usually features an accordion and percussion instruments. The partying starts at 11.

The only option for a reasonable nightlife is "dos remedios " village,where you can go to a pub and sometimes listen to live music.
Sincerely,at night,you won't feel like party time,the endless trips during the day,most including long walks up and down,the walks under the very hot sun,the divings,you must be a partymachine to have the energy for it!
Seating at the balcony of the guesthouse with all the other guests and just having your cold beer and a good talk,was definitely enough for us!

The day in Fernando is full of beautifull things, swimming, snorkeling, walking, .......and more so after dining I was so tired that I wanted to return in the pousada, to stay in the ammoc waching the incredible dark brilliant star sky, witha bottle of bear....but if u need a Caipirinha, listening music u can go to the Cachorro Bar during the week end or to the other Pizzeria ( don't remember the name under the church stairs...every friday and sunday there was some bands playing good music, I remember this reagge-brasilian band...nice to spend one night dinding or only for some drinks. There aren´t many alternatives for nightlife in Fernando de Noronha....no dancehouses, but if you are craving for some party you should check out Bar do Cachorro.
Bar do Cachorro is a night bar open from 10 PM to the next morning. The entrance is free....
It´s simple, it´s an open bar, next to Cachorro´s beach, that plays usually brazilian music, like forró, samba, pagode or axé, where you can have some typical drinks and shake your bones a bit hehehe.
It´s the most frequented place at night....sometimes national famous bands come to play a little.
And if you give up on learning how to dance samba, you can rest a little down the beach =P Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

This is a pizzeria / bar / live music entertainment spot that has started to compete with the other place, bar do cachorro. The owner has a preference for reggae (as do more of the northern Brazilians) as can be seen by the wallpaintings and heard by the live reggae / Brazilian music. great for those who are not into 'Forro'.
