This little place was only open for dinner during the time I was on the island, but it really hit the spot the night I went. The name is Arte e Sabor, which means "Art and Flavor". The walls are adorned with the work of local artists, and if you fancy something, it will more than likely be for sale.
The food is simple: thin pancakes stuffed with local main course offerings and desserts such as jerked beef, seafood, tropical fruit, and so on. The portions (and the prices) are small enough that you can sample a number of different flavors.
I liked the Catupiry Shrimp crepe. It is a creamy dish consisting of cooked shrimp in a cheese sause, seasoned in a spicy northeastern Brazil style. In Fernando the price of restaurant are more expensive than in the mainland, so for dinner u can try Bio's all u can eat restaurant....hot plate, like cannelloni and white seafoos lasagna ( Lasagan is one of the main dishes of my town, so I never heat it outside, but this one was good), grilled fish, a lot of Nordestino plates, veggy, salted cakes, and good brasilian cake and pudding, like cocada or pudim de leite, free coffe...everything for 10 reais, 3 euros.....
Nice place cause is not only for tourist, policeman, locals go there to heat and in the garden side to play domino!

In the guesthouse only the breakfast was included,it was a simple breakfast,fresh bread,some marmelades,coffe,cheese,fruits.
But,lunch and/or dinner could be order with a previous time of some hours,at least.
We ate dinner at the guesthouse twice,and we could choose between vegetarian,steak or seafood.
I took the seafood,and it was very good,fried with garlic and honey,I keep using this recipe since! Leave a Comment

There are some excellent restaurants in the island. They are diferent but the food is excellent.
I can sugest Cacimba Bistro, Restaurante do Ze Maria (in the pousada), Ecologicus, Varandão da ilha, Flamboyan (pay per kilo) .
The island is very small, so just walk or ask and you´ll find them.
Try the sea food (Risotos, Muquecas, Pastas, and all kind of fishes )
during wednesday and saturday try Ze Maria´s restaurant for a gastronomic dinner.
You have to reserve in advance. You pay R$90 for all you can eat. You can enjoy, lobsters, shrimps, fishes, pastas, japanese food, meats, and everything you imagine you can eat.

If you want traditional island food..it´s here...they have meats,pasta, but the speciallity is fish on bananeira..
they cook the fish on bananeira´s piece, with salt.. very tasty..
There you can find the original fish on bananeira, invented on the island...

It's not in the city centre and kind of dificult to find but it's worth it. The ambiance is very nice decorated and with light brazilian music.
The owner of the restaurant is the cook and she loves to hear good things about her food and the restaurant in general.
But they serve only seafood!!!
A delicious shrimp moqueca (done with coconut milk and dende oil)...it's very tipical in the north of Brazil.

The restaurant's ambiance is perfect. trees, wood, shells, candles, insects, sculptures of things found at the beach...
we didn't have much luck with the waitress...she was probably having a bad day...but the food was delicious.
They serve pizzas with seafood and normal ones too...

It´s a very simple place, but it seems that everyone in the island goes there to have dinner - maybe because of the amount and diversity of food you can have.
