Kids playing by the Stream by pepples46 is everything and takes you places but what ever takes your fancy, I traveled light and with a small but strong lined Backpack on the front..I had more control if someone would sneak up from behind to rip the bag off.
good shoes..which incidently could be bought in Brazil, one of the main Export is leader...the shoes are just great take good care of your photo equipment, sealable plastic bags the way to go in the humidity of the amazone states
up to you..when on medication bring it with you but declare it at Custom
what can I say...a must
when on Medication ask you're GP, generally you can buy any drugs at the chemist, without prescription Buy sunblocker and mosquito repellent in the country, mostly very good, specified to the conditions.wash you're hands before eating, Hepatitis A, B,+ C is high in Brasil.get you're shots.and take care of personal hygiene..check out what vaccinations are mandatory!!%c Leave a Comment

If you like to shop, make sure u bring a box with extra space for the loot u want to take back. A good strong suitcase with a lock on it should be fine.
If you go during the summer time like we went in January... take lots of summer stuff... its HOT.. it was about 90 degrees one night. Sandals, shorts, sleevelss tops
They have loads of pharmacies, so if u run out of stuff, theres no stress. The only problem is u might not get the same Brand...but mostly they have popular brands of soaps, fem. supplies, lotion, etc
they have everything Leave a Comment

If you like coffee bring along some first class Brazilian coffee from your home country because you won't find it in Brazil... It is also very hard to find places that will serve cafezinho in the afternoon or evenings... After all life isn't meant to be easy! Leave a Comment

NOthing Special, but if you are heading into the Amamzon, I reccomend you take as little as possible, as most places to stay aren't very big, and not many places to keep the stuff.
Also variable. In the cities, normal clothes are best. But in the outer regions, whole-body covering is reccomended. I know it's not likely, but you wouldn't want the chance of catching malaria or something.
Oh, nothing much. FOr the tropical regions, like the rainforest, i really reccoment some extras, because if you get hurt in there, who knows where the next city is? I don't think it's relly that needed, but if you are really paranoid, i reccomnd bringing quinine protection pills, but you need to ask your doctor for those.
Bring a lot of extras if you are not in the cities, because small shops aren't very helpful.

By now most travelers know about Brazil's visa recopricity rule. That is, since Brazilian citizens are required to have a valid visa to enter the USA, American citizens are required to have one to enter Brazil. Also, American citizens are photographed and fingerprinted upon entry, just as is required of Brazilian citizens entering the USA. Leave a Comment

If you are planning to travel around South America buy a map at home. It's virtually impossible to find let alone buy a full size map of South America. It seems odd but of all the bookstores we've searched they only carry maps of other continents and individual countries. So buy your maps at home. Leave a Comment
