Lancaster Grill: Excellent Brazillian Restaurant

by MarkMoore

Excellent Brazillian style grill. You choose some salad from a buffet and then the waiters come round and serve slices of delicious meat from skewers. It's a common style of restaurant in Brazil but only really good for the non-vegetarians amongst us.

Restaurante O Casarão: Best Buffet in Bonito

by iwys

The buffet lunches at Restaurante O Casarão are great value. I paid just R$13,90 ($5.80) for a spectacular buffet, including a variety of traditional Brazilian dishes, fresh fish, chicken, salad, desserts and much more. The restaurant is on Bonito's main street and has both indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Churrascaria Monchique: Copabacabana Meat Feast

by iwys

Churrascaria Monchique is my favourite restaurant in Brazil. The decor is warm and inviting, the service is perfect and the food, especially the roast beef, is out of this world. All that and it's relatively inexpensive too. No wonder locals are queueing down the street to get in at weekends. The only problem is that there is such a variety and it's all so delicious that you will inevitably eat too much. There is an eclectic buffet, with everything from traditional Brazilian dishes to sushi, but don't pile too much on your plate because the real treat awaits you after you sit down. A constant stream of waiters will bring every type of roast and grilled meat on skewers and carve slices onto your plate, and they just keep on coming. The whole buffet, with all the meat you can eat, costs just R$17.90 Mon-Fri and R$19.90 at weekends.

Sorvete a kilo places: Refreshing sorbets Brazilian-style

by BlueLlama

Comida a kilo is a well-known (and loved) Brazilian way of eating, but when I was there I came to love this ice cream equivalent. It's a little-known fact (well, opinion) that Brazil is one of the icecream epicentres of the world. There isn't much of a distinction in Brazilian Portuguese between icecream and sorbet - it's all called 'sorvete' - but it's the soundalike that's the real star here. All those unusual tropical fruits made into delicious sorbets that are perfect for quenching the thirst on a boiling hot day.The concept is the same as with any other comida a kilo place: pick up a dish, fill it with as many different icecreams and toppings as you fancy and then proceed to have it weighed. The beauty is that you can try lots of different varieties, a good thing when there are so many unfamiliar flavours to choose from. And, of course, you can then go back and load up on your...

Mondego: Mondego great for people watching...

by kimberlyfisher1

Stopping randomly at a streetside restaurant brought us to Mondego on Copacabana Beach. Cafe style seating let us enjoy the hustle and bustle of busy Brazilian nightlife as we order a special chicken dish and sipped vodka sodas.Nothing really stands out food-wise or atmosphere-wise from this restaurant...but the service is very friendly. Everything we saw was sort of bland...ordered a chicken dish that could be labeled ok...

Marius: break some glass at Marius!

by kimberlyfisher1

The atmosphere was lively, the food excellent, and the wine even better. On the first night in Brazil, we dined at this popular Brazilian Bar-B-Q eatery with it's own wine label. We danced after dinner with the local entertainment, and feasted on a mile long appetizer bar featuring seafood, salads, and everything you could possibly want. Fresh rose petals are scattered on the tables and in the ladies room (great touch!). The staff was so thrilled by our presence, we were even allowed to break plates with the owner, in the Greek tradition! ~mile long appetizer bar!~ Brazilian B-B-Q...features 30 different kinds of meat!~Caipirinhas...the best in Brazil!~Brazil Dancers as entertainment!~Fresh coconut drinks!Make sure you bring a big appetite!

Forneria: Upscale look/reasonable prices

by Porteno

Great space, large, open and inviting. Kitchen opens into the dining area and very California in style . Wood fired oven for pizzas but a rather large menu with enough to satisfy about anyone. Service was outstanding. I had the lomo with arugula and shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano one night and then veal with artichokes another night and both were outstanding. Nico had pizzas both times.

Delirio Tropical: Great lunch place

by Porteno

Great selection of salads, hot mains, soups, deserts at good prices. About 12 Rs per person for a large lunch. Vegan options too. Service very friendly and only a block off the beach. Gets very busy at lunch but moves quickly. Too many to choose from they were all my favs.

A churrascaria in Rio

by Tuna_ank

If you are not vegetarian you must taste a Churrascaria style meat in one of good restaurants. They are grilling every kind of meat with skewers. It is like a Turkish kebap but they don't cook much like us. They are cutting meats at your plate and going back to continue to grilling. Of course except meat you have many things to eat . I liked this style althought I didn't like to taste of meats much. Sometimes they even grill to pineapple with honey. Worth to try. Pc:You will see a name on the picture. I will talk about it on the other tip.

Rodizio style retaurants: Eat till you drop

by hydronetta

Rodízio is a style of eating typical of Brazil. One pays a fixed price and the waiters bring an offering of food to each customer at several times throughout the meal, until the customers signify that they have had enough. Servers come to the table with knives and a skewer, on which are speared various kinds of meat, slicing thin pieces directly onto your plate most commonly local cuts of beef, pork, or chicken. The price includes a salad buffet as well.Rodizio is specially designed for those wishing to “eat till you drop”. Everything in our case was finely cooked and presented. A dining experience!!
