Soccer madness

If you're a soccer fan, Brazil is paradise. Locals will be talking about it, the newspapers will cover every aspect of it and it's always on the television. If you visit Rio, try to plan your trip when there is a match going on between two rival teams. I saw Flamengo play Vasco de Gama in Maracana (the world's largest stadium) and it was truly amazing.

Hang gliding

Hang gliding over Rio de Janeiro was one of the best things I did on my whole trip. The feeling was very peaceful and the view was beautiful and it really made me envious of birds!Unfortunately, a couple weeks after I did this an instructor and his student were killed in an accident and all tandem jumps were barred. You'll want to check with local companies to make sure they are back to jumping.

I am not a surfer and never did it, but as I am an experienced traveller around Brazil I am sure that -if you are a surfer and want to practise it there- you will find great places to surf around! I boioked a Safari, through the rainforest, and a boat trip into the falls... the rainforest trip was a little dissapointing, no dangerous creatures...but the boat trip was fantastic!
