Beaches

by cachaseiro

There is no way around the beaches in Brazil. They are the center of the social life in most brazilian towns and the place where you meet your friends and get new friends.Brazilien beaches, especially in the big cities are not the isolated bounty land beaches, but very lively beaches with lots of people and football, music, kids, families, volleyball and everything else you can imagine. There is a whole culture surrounding the beaches in brazil and it is not just a place you go to get a tan.

Amazonas

by cachaseiro

Most of the Amazon forest is in brazil and it's the kinda place i always wanted to visit since i was a kid.Amazonas is very out of the way and adventurous. It's not easy to roam around there and you will need some time to explore the region properly. If you do so you will see that adventure is still possible. It´s a region that is in many ways still very wild west and you should be prepared for a bit of everything and some odd characters among the locals, but it´s a really really interesting part of the world.

Tip Photo
The north east.

by cachaseiro

The north east of brazil is the region where the people have the least money, but the biggest hearts.Travelling the north east is a true adventure and you will meet the freindliest and most open minded people in the world there. The region is generally poor, but it´s not a dangorous part of Brazil as lonmg as you keep away from the slums in the big cities. It´s a very unique part of Brazil and You will also come across some of the best beaches in the world in that region.

Tip Photo
Salvador.

by cachaseiro

Salvador is the best preserved colonial town in all the americas according to UNESCO.It's brimming with culture aswell. The vast majority of good musicians and artists in Brazil are from Salvador and that gives Salvador it´s own vibe that is just unbeatable..Salvador is probaply the the most magic town of Brazil.

Tip Photo
Carnival

by cachaseiro

Carnival i Salvador, Olinda or Recife.170 million people having orgasm at the same time. what more can i say.The carnevals of the north east are also the best ones in my opinion as they are more street parties than parades and you are there out in the streets partying with the brazilians opposed to the more famous carnival in Rio de janeiro where you tend to just be a spectator watching the big parades.

Employment as an English teacher

by robine

You should be aware that teachers in language schools here are shockingly badly paid. My well-qualified wife teaches EFL (mainly for the corporate health plan offered) at the Cultura Inglesa, one of the best-known chains in Rio, and earns Rs$16.50 an hour (that's currently around US$9!), and there are many deductions. In order to get the job she had to prove that she was a university graduate, fluent in English, and legally entitled to work here. (Tourist visas don't qualify.) Salaries in Fortaleza are likely to be substantially lower. But private tuition is better paid (in Rio, perhaps Rs$80 an hour for a qualified native speaker). As regards starting a school, check out the competition, and the complicated labour laws, first. Good luck!

Carnival

by debuxa

Hi,If I could give you just one advice, here it goes:Enjoy the whole week of the Carnival in Salvador... there are a lot of parties and many things to do. But Carnival in Rio is also good. I think that going to Manaus, Pantanall and Salvador might be possible... but Iguassu Falls is too far from all this places! It's like, completly out of the way... you can try to go... but I don't advise you.Sometimes staying in fewer places is better and remember that if you go to Salvador "Tempero da Dadá" (restaurant) is worth a visit!

The Pantanal

by iwys

The Pantanal is the best area in South America for seeing wildlife. Whilst there I saw hundreds of Caimans, Capybaras, Swamp Bush Deer, Black Howler Monkeys, Green Iguanas and thousands of birds, including Greater Rheas, Jabirou Storks, Hyacinth Macaws, Red and Green Macaws and Toco Toucans. You can use various forms of transport to explore the Pantanal, including hiking through the swamps, riding a horse or travelling in the back of a safari truck.

Incredible Iguacu falls

by Tuna_ank

I went to Brazil especially for Iguacu falls and I can go again even just for it. I would like to see from Argentina side too. It must be nice to walk on the river . I also saw from helicopter and from boat. I advice all of them if you can. All views were magnificient. But if you can't I believe that Brazil side is better. Because you have chance to see other falls also.

First Time Travelers to Brazil

by Brazilbum

For a first time visitor, I believe that Rio is not as welcoming a city as is Salvador in Bahia. This is a city that contains the essence of Brazil's cultural, historical and culinary delights. Try not to travel at the peak travel season (December - February). You will find beaches, accomodations and travel packed. October through November or March and April are much better months to visit the Northeast of Brazil. I would like also to put in a word about a less travelled area in Brazil's Northeast - the Coral Coast in Alagoas. Here you will find some of Brazil's most unspoiled and spectacular beaches with tropical reefs that never stop. The gateway to this area is Maragogi, Alagoas easily accessed from Maceio or Recife. The Coral Coast is a real change of pace for travelers.
