Carrefull with taxis, they like to give you prices when they should use their machine. They also like to take longest roads.Appart of that, no big problem
In Salvador, At the 'Mercado Modelo' market, you can bargain and get at least 50% of the original price!
The Samba Show at Platforma is a huge waste of time. The costumes are great, but the show lags. I can't speak for all Samba Shows, just this one.
Don't go far to the hotel,s zone. Try not to look like a tourist. Don´t carry or show valuable things or jewellery with you
