 Southern Cross by Trekki
Mainly in the less populated and less industrialized south of south america, the night sky is magnificent !
The Southern Cross is one example - a star constellation which has been used ages ago as navigation guide of countless sailors.
It has a perfect cross shape, the lower star (alpha-crux) is the brightest one.
no tie requiered :-)
However, warm clothes may be of help, as it can get quite chilly in the Patagonian nights.

The Orion constellation is another example.
For inhabitants of the northern hemisphere the view of Orion on the southern part of the globe is very interesting - it looks like a "smiley" - with a slightly askew mouth.

There wasn't any clubs, parties, or nightlife spots where we were in Chile.
We never did quite get used to the fact that it didn't start to get dark until at least 11pm.

Cultural life is huge!, there are a lot of art demonstrations in the streets or in a place, totally free!.
The music in the discotheques is very eclectic: rythms like: Techno, Dance, Pop, rock, salsa, merengue, samba, raves.
Usually, there isin't a dress code, but if you're under 18 years (or sometimes even under 21) you can't enter because in some places it's forbidden,(always bring your passport or any ID with you).

The beer is cold, the service is warm. The fact that someone has built an Australian Bar in Santiago beggers belief.
