Fondest memory: I will miss the charming of their people, and the what nature give them.
The most complete hike of Torres del Paine National Park is the W. It's called W because of the shape you performon the trails (see picture). This means, there are 3 major hikes, which are done back and forth. The first one is from Hosteria del Torres to the base of the Torees. The second is from the Italian camp along the French Valley, and the third one is from Lake Pehoe tothe Grey Glacier. Between this three arms of the W, you hike along Lake Nordskjold, and from the Italian camp passing lake Scottsberg to Lake Pehoe. It takes between 6-10 days to complete the W, and you should be in a very fit condition.
If you are not, you can still enjoy the National park by doing part of the trails, and connect with car and / or boat between them.
Fondest memory: Hike the French valley
Torres del Paine National Park is the only reason for most people to visit Puerto Natales. The park was declared Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1978. The park is beautiful composition of spectacular mountain range, lakes, and glaciers. It is an ideal destination for Eco-tourism and adventure.
The park has a pretty good tourist infrastructure. You can find here all varietions of accomodation, form campgrounds all around the park, nice hostels like the Hosterias Pehoe, Torres and Lago Grey, or even a five star Hotel Explora.
The most popular activity is ofcourse hikking the beautiful pathes of the park, but you can go horseback riding as well, sailing on some lake a.s.o

If the 7 km' walk uphill to the Torres Base, is too much for you, you still don't have to give up. There is the possibility of horseback riding up to a certain point and a walk up to the lookout point.
Excrusions are going out of Hosteria Las Torres, every day. Contact them for more information
Fondest memory: Their website:
If you are travelling in the South and are headed to Torres del Paine, Puerto Natales is a great place to prepare for the trip and to relax afterwards.
I stayed at Patagonia Adventure hostal (61/441028), it was an excellent hostal and the owners where extremely helpful. (located on the plaza)
A great place to eat in Puerto Natales is El Maritimo which is right on the waterfront.
