    El Milodón

by elpariente Updated Apr 14, 2007

The Milodón , that was extinguished 10.000 years ago , it was a mammal herbivorous that looked like a big bear with camel head . It belonged to the same family as the actual armadillo , the anteater and the sloth and it is thinking that it was twice higher than a man
On 1896 , Captain Eberhard , found skin pieces well conserved and also bones , hairs and excrements and he sold them to the British Museum

    Pisco – pure

by vtveen Written Nov 20, 2006

    3 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Pisco is the national drink of Chile (and Peru) and is a rather strong drink (35% alc.) distilled of muscat grapes, with a high sugar content. These grapes are growing in the north of Chile. It is possible to drink it pure or as a so called ‘pisco sour’, when the drink is mixed with lemon, egg whites and sugar.

Our first pisco was a ‘pisco pure’ during the very cold boat trip on the Fiordo Ultima Esparanza in Chilean Patagonia. And believe me, in spite of the piece of glacier ice in our glass, after a pisco we felt a lot warmer !!

    Hetty's first pisco ever
