The wine production hall seems to be an old building, but it isn't. It was really surprising that everything and all was built in old style. This hall looks like the old factory halls we have in Europe .... and which were built at the beginning of the industrial revolution in the mid 19th century.
So don't believe someone who says that this are old buildings. It is a fake ....
But this is not to cheat the people about building age, but the reason why they build it in old style is that many chilenians like the old style!

The winery also has its own museum, which shows the history of the winery and the owner familiy. Further you can see interesting details and exponates about chilenian viticulture but also history of viticulture in general. You will get infos where wine originally comes from, how it came to Chile, and, and, and ....
Very interesting!
The building in the picture is just the entrance, the museum was built into the ground under the stairs ....

And if you look inside the hall, you will only see modern stainless steel tanks and iron ....
It looks less romantic but it is absolutely necessary to make good and clean wine!
So, that is not a fake ....

It seems that every chilenian winery has a fountain! Because I saw one at nearly all wineries we visited: Santa Laura and Viu Manet in the Colchagua Valley, Errazuriz in the Aconcagua Valley and also here!
Very nice and a good idea! Maybe we should also install one which welcomes our guests .... :-))
You see the fountain in the background of the picture. Guess who is the person in front of the fountain?? :-))

Otherwise known as "El Cajon del Maipo" in Spanish. This place is 90 kms south east of Santiago. It is one of my favourite places to go to on day trips.
