Galleries
The galleries are smaller, very traditional, shopping areas between and in buildings in Santiago. There are literally thousands of stores like these in the city and the variety of goods is unlimited.
The shopping will fasinate those used to American type of shopping.

Viña del Mar
Viña del Mar is about an hour and a half drive from Santiago through the Pacific Cordillera and on the coast. This coastal city is bustling with life and not really a relaxing beach to stay at but nice to visit nonetheless. There are many new apartment buildings going up in Viña as people buy homes out of Santiago or a second home to spend weekends and holidays. The city has a mall, beachfront (not apt for swimming), markets and even a casino.

What the devil is that in
the wine cellar!

Wine lovers beware! The devil has been found lurking in the wine cellars of Concha y Toro and is watching over the wine to make sure there are no theives. That is the story. As the legend goes in the Concha y Toro winery, Mr. Concha y Toro was having problems with people taking his wines so he spread a rumor that a devil lived inside his cellars and word has it that it worked. There is also a rare Camenere Wine that can be found in this distillery. In the light it glows violet and supposidly can be found no where else in the world.

With my visit to Chile I was...
With my visit to Chile I was going to a visit a friend. And she did with some other (girl)friends to show me the city. I was staying there at her place and that was great!

For me it was great that I already was knowing there somebody. I think that that is the best way to see the city by localpeople. And I am not speaking Spanish and that is something that is mostly neccecary to stay in Chile.

The best way to find local people is on the internet!
