The ornate pulpit of Basilica de la Merced really deserves an extra tip for its special architecture and its extra fine works of art. Just click on my photographs in order to enlarge them and enjoy the fine details, it is without doubt the most beautiful pulpet that I saw in South America so far.

Dont miss to take a look inside Basilica de la Merced, it is full of nice works of art and has ornate decorations all over. It is really interesting for me to find such baroque churches in South America and in style and architecture they are quite similar to those you will see in Europe.
Basilica de la Merced is open for visitors during the day, no restrictions and also photography is no problem at all !

Basilica de la Merced is a beautiful church in the centre of Santiago, within walking-distance from Plaza de Armas. Several famous and rich people are buried in that church and you can see its lovely interior freely and without restrictions during the day.
