This hill overlooks the city of Santiago. It has a large parklike setting. Besides the extensive views, there is a large statue of mary at the top and a shrine dedicated to her. At least one papal visit has occured in this place.

On top of this hill there's a statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the whole city. It can be seen from most points in the city.
This hill, one of the Parque Metropolitano, is the tallest one and you can take lots of pictures from the top. There's a small church and some artcraft. There's also a restaurant and lots, lots of tourists.
The easiest way to get up is to take the "teleferico". You can take it on the bottom and go straight up the top. They're small cable cars that go up the hill and you get some amazing views of the city.

Cerro San Cristóbal is a hill in the middle of Santiago. At the top, you will find an Inmaculate Conception statue, some attractions, arts and crafts shops and a belvedere, from where you have a nice sight of Santiago.

Take a ride on the Funicular or the Teleferico up the hill and enjoy a great view over the city .... if you get lucky, you might have a day without smog. The "Cordillera", the snowcapped mountain range is breathtaking.
There are two ways to get up: From Pedro de Valdivia, or from the End of PIO Nono in the Barrio Bellavista. I recommend to go up from Pedro de Valdivia wth the Teleferico, feels almost a bit like in a swiss ski resort ;)

Trekking on CERRO SAN CRISTÓBAL
{Picture shows a view of Santiago from near the top of the hill}
Cerro San Cristóbal will offer you the very best views of Santiago. Get ready for a good trekking morning: you will be able to walk a lot there, if you want. There is also this 'funicular' elevator which takes you uphill - it's a nice thing to do. Lots of nature, parks, trees, there is even a zoo... The smog-covered Santiago will feel like hundreds of miles away once you're trekking on San Cristóbal. Fill in your lungs with the sweet scent of a central Chilean forest in summer! DON'T MISS IT! If you have only 2 days in Santiago and you like nature rather than bulidings, this is your place.

You can get to the top of San Cristobal via this funicular. Once you're there, you can go farther into the park via cable cars.
