The area was declared Natural Monument in 1990 and it is administered by Conaf. Due to the earthquake of January, 1998 it was prohibited to lower to the beach and at the foot of the viewing-point, for the possibility of rocky detachments of the cliffs. The arch was a sea bed it does 30 million years, then the sea moved back generating, for erosion, the cliffs and this singular arch of rock.
The monument is really beautiful and the beach is very nice too, but is not recommended to swim in it because the sea can be dangerous in this area, anyway you can take great photographies, enjoy a day near to the beach, walk around or just stay in the Viewing-point where you will also find a restaurant.
