This is a very assorted Market. I come here very often for fresh fish and seafood.
Here you're attended by fishermans and their family. Very friendly people :o)
Today I bought 2 kg of "Reineta" to Don Gabriel (in the pic), he also gave me some good recipes.
Here you'll also find some small, cheap and good restaurants, the best way to try the local recipes!.

This restaurant is located in the fishermen's Village, in Peñuelas.
Here you'll get delicious seafood dishes, regardless the restaurant appearance.
Lot of restaurants in this Village are run by the same fishermen.
Cheap and good!
Favorite Dish: Again......... I'll maybe repeat some of my favourite dishes but I'll add some others here:
1. Pastel de Jaibas (Crab's pie) YUMMY!. This is usually served in a clay plate.
2. Empanada de Ostiones (Large Oyster's Empanada)
3. Empanada de queso con camarones (Shrimps and cheese empanada).
You should also ask for a bottle of white Chilean wine ;o)

This is one of the most popular types of transport within the city and also between La Serena and Coquimbo. These are called "MICROS", there are many of them with different routes that covers almost the whole city. They stop everywhere, every minute.
This is a good way to get to know better a city like Coquimbo.
Is also very cheap: US$0.50

Favorite thing: Sea gulls are the hosts at any beach......they are always moving around in groups and it's always interesting to watch them.......
Fondest memory: In this pic you can see only one.......it was like listening to something I guess :o)
I went to a popular restaurant in the port of Coquimbo and it was nearby these rocks, I decided to get my aperitive (pisco sour) watching the sea gulls with the ocean as a backround.....so nice! :o)

Favorite thing: I feel attracted to fishermen boats....with all those colors to be distinguished in the sea.....
Fondest memory: I always try to imagine the journeys of those colorful boats............which look so tiny in the wide ocean.
