As a huge starbucks fan wherever I go, I have to say that this time I am giving up here in Chile. Service is OK but the sandwiches and coffee they are serving very good. Better local coffee.
Favorite Dish: coffe with caramel

there is one TV in the restaurant we were forced to wait for a table or sit outside on the sidewalk.
Come for a relaxing meal with friends in a cozy atmosphere where the staff is professional.

At night we went to a Mexican restaurant The Cuernavaca.
Lucky for us that is was not so far from our hotel as it was raining, raining, raining, almost like a tropical rain shower.
This Mexican restaurant has a cozy wooden interior and an open fire.
Later on there was also life music on the background.
Service was friendly and quick.
And of course the food tasted great.
They serve a tasty range of fajitas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, chimichanga and quesadillas.
The bar offers a huge cocktail list as well as wine and beer. (I tried a Margarita)
Favorite Dish: Bocheta Mixta : deliscious plate with Ave (Chicken) and Novillo (Veal) - 5600 pesos
Tequila Margarita

This restaurant, although more expensive than the average seafood restaurant in the area, is worth a visit for the history and ambience, not to mention the excellent food and service. The restaurant sits over the sea and also contains a boutique hotel.
Favorite Dish: I ate the Congrio Cap Ducal (see pic) which was absolutely delicious.

Even in off season this place was busy...so reservations probably needed in peak times. The seafood was wonderful and prepared with some different sauces.
Very good service and a good atmosphere...lots of plants...very South American!
Favorite Dish: Loved the Bass

We loved this place ...no English but sign language worked perfect...I just wanted to make sure I didn't get the mixed grill with the blood pudding or sweet breads ...but it was no problem . We had a huge grill with beef , ribs, chicken, and sausages. The wine was super of course. A cozy place with stone walls and friendly staff.

This charming little restaurant has tremendous character. It feels like a trendy European cafe with ecletic tables and chairs. It is quite unique, adjacent to the cafe is a shop with wonderful antiques. The staff is friendly and the food is good all served in a great casual atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: Crepe Ricotta & Frambeusa

Definately one of the best ice cream parlors I've been to. Chile is #1 when it comes to ice creams. We've got the most highest consumption of ice cream per person in all of South America. Even more than Brazil and Argentina!!! I'm starting to think that this place is the reason why.
Favorite Dish: Try the chocolate mousse or the "mousse de manjar". Definately the best.

On the beach of Re?aca, there are 5 "sectores" which are limited by 5 terraces that overlook the beach. This past summer, the terraces were rebuilt and they put 5 restaurants/pubs/ice cream parlors. You can have sandwichs, juices, a coke, a piece of cake or a glass of whisky. They are very, very cheap, and they have an incredible view of the ocean, as they're on top of the beach.
Favorite Dish: I ate a piece of chocolate cake and an orange juice. They were ok.

Most of Vina's restaurants are located in San Martin Ave. It's quite nice to take a walk first and see what you want to eat. There are italian, spanish, chilean, german and junk food restaurants as well. I've never been to the Hotel del Mar restaurants (the casino hotel), but I've heard it's quite good. Take a walk and see what you want to eat!
